Of course I would like to only have to get ONE system to play all the games. I'd also like a million bucks, peace on earth and a threesome with hot girls. Nothing of that will ever gonna happen (although, I'm still hoping for that 3way!!).

I think they defeated the purpose of the video. At first they were all like, "Wah! Me want Mario on 360!" then they were all like, "No, no. Exclusives sell consoles. I totally see where these companies are going with this."

No not at all.  They just dont make games that has a lot of replayability with multiplayer.  They made KZ and Resistance but reistance and KZ never reached the magnitude of Halo, Gears, CoD, Battlefield, etc.  I mean even look at many of the popular XBLA games compared to PS Store games.  

Minecraft vs Journey.  Minecraft Ive spent at least 30 hours in.  Journey ive spent less than 2 hours.

Other games that ive spent about 20 hours or more in on XBLA is Castle Crashers and Trials Evolution which both have multiplayer central points.

It's why you hear many people say I love my PS3 but I play my Xbox more.  


Notice that this generation has become huge with multiplayer and that games that are popular has great multiplayer.  Call of Duty, Halo, Gears, Forza, Gran Turismo, Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Minecraft, Trials Evolution, Battlefield, Madden, Grand Theft Auto.

Some of these games was already popular but multiplayer has deinitely exploded this generation.  But now think of games that is proimarily focused on single player and how well theyve sold.  The ones that comes to my mind that has sold well includes Uncharted, Fable, Metal Gears Solid, Zelda, Super Mario Galaxy.......And I cant think of anything else.  I know there is but those are the only ones I can think of that reaches around 5 million sold on one console

If there was only one console you can bet it would be way more expensive than $400.

They have no competition so they can price it however they want.  Within reason that is.  But if there was Wii or 360 or anythign else, the PS3 would have stayed at $600 for a long time.

other than looking at things from a gamers perspective ( "want to spent money on only 1 console + peripherals + subscription(they all seem to prefer xbox)" ) they don't offer any insight into the matter

if in this coming gen HW sales were to collapse it might be wiser for the 3 console manufacturers to release one combined console, yet I don't think they will even then

it's just way too alluring to have all the ecosystem of a successful system in your own palm

well i don't agree that a multiplayer component makes a game more valuable, or in being so makes its quality rise above that of sigle player games.

when they talk about Sony having better exclusives but 360 has better quality. that to me makes no sense.

one things true, people do seemingly play multiplayer games on 360 which is based on need from what i can tell. friends, and service being those reasons, but i play both with blinders on so i don't see the difference.

if i bundle my top 5 online multiplayer games they would go as follows:

1. KZ

2. GEARS

3. LBP

4. Starhawk

5. UC

you do know i hate COD and battle field right, and don't get me started on Halo.
