Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft to push GTAIV with multi-million commercial campaign

I mean, it's going to sell more on the 360 than PS3 already, so this really is a waste of money.

I say M$ will also be getting the superoir GTA4 version in terms of graphics, frame rate etc.

Oh realy!!! Is that why GTA4 size been strung and slower loading due to xbox hardware limitations. And how would you know if graphics and frame rate is better. Please!!! either to show prove or shut the hell up!

And where is the proof for your claims due to xbox hardware limitations??? All the rumors about the delay were about the devs having problems with the PS3 version with the 360 ver. pretty much completed...

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

This is the turning point of 2008 !

auch for Sony

Yeah, because Sony will sit and stare at M$ hype machine... get real man. Assassins Creed and Cod4 have had really good support from Sony. This game is really big and important. There will be support from Sony for sure. The big one.

Microsoft push this commercial for their Xbox 360 that means that people will see the game for Xbox 360 of course this is a major blow for sony Microsofts PR is not that stupid. Now TV commercials will end with this *Exclusiv meterial for Xbox 360* and probely no Playstation 3 logo in the corner.  The game will sell good on Playstation 3 but I think it will sell a lot better on Xbox 360.

Think twice before helping a friend in need.

people are stupid sometimes strange

if the game is release on the 2 consoles, it will be advertise on the 2 consoles
MS cant put "Xbox360 exclusive" cause it is not
and remember the dl content will be availbale in ....... 6 months, so MS can't put "exclusive content on Xbox360"

...

we will see

Well, they could show an "Xbox 360" sign at the end of the commercial. That´s what they do with most games that are multiplatform.

Microsoft will have the most ads for sure as there are not many system sellers for the Xbox 360 this year. If they drop the price at the sames time they will get the bulk of the sales on their system. That´s what they will try to do.

It's mindshare. Obviously, if you own a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 already, you will buy the version of the game for the system you arleady own.

But what about those tens of millions of PS2 owners we're constantly reminded of? One could have reasonably argued that most big time GTA fans would upgrade to the PS3, because they're used to the Playstation brand being the home of their most popular games. Regardless of whether that's actually true now or not.

Did people even know that the Xbox got all of the GTA's last generation? Sure, they were late, but they got them. In the minds of most people, Playstation 2 was the home of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. That perception may reverse itself this generation. If you want to play Grand Theft Auto IV and you don't own a PS360 yet, which would you buy? It's possible that now, with the exclusive content and marketing rights, people will buy a 360, not a Playstation 3.

If this is all true, I expect the combination of the downloadable content + marketing campaign to have a very significant effect in America. I expect it to have a moderate effect in Europe, with the 360 punching a dent in the PS3's growing momentum but not actually turning it around completely; and in Japan, it will be meaningless.

In essence, I kind of agree with lilbell, at least in America. If this ends up being what we think it is, then I'd say this is negates any chance (chances I already thought were slim) of the PS3 somehow surmounting the 360's momentum and overtaking it long term.
