Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Direct announced for tomorrow - Wind Waker HD/3D Mario/Mario Kart/New Monolith game/Yoshi's Epic Yarn and more!

Nice that VC is planned and with off-TV play. I understand why they need to rework VC titles for Wii U, security issues et al., but why extra charge for games I bought already?

In general, probably not the games I'd really-really want, but nonetheless great work, some surprises, could see a lot of people excited over this.

I will say the only disappointment for me during the ND was that users had to buy the VC games again, it doesn't affect me as much because I only own a few VC game, but I can definitely see how this will anger a lot of people. Even if it's just $1 it should be free.

It would have been nice to see footage for Bayonetta 2 and 3D Mario, but I can wait for E3.

The games don't magically work on Wii U. It takes time and work to get to run properly and to integrate stuff like Miiverse. Yeah, it should be free but you can surely understand why its not.

uhh i have literally like 80 VC games, so I HAVE to pay to play them or I have to pay to play them on the gamepad?

To those of you who were disappointed, they can't reveal their entire hand now, gotta save some stuff for E3! Loved it! Can't wait to see Mario Kart, SSBB4, and 3D Mario in action. The Monolith game at the end looked amazing! HD Zelda remake before Christmas!

Also, if you want to play your already purchased VC games in Wii mode for free, you can. The small upgrade charge is for the added functionality of the Wii U VC.

I would love it if they added the dungeons that where cut out of it to release the game sooner!

if only they had more dungeons and less trifoce pieces the game would have been so much better.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Best I can do for you at the moment is tell you to go to the end of this video, but there should be a separate video up of just the Monolith Soft part soon, I'm sure.

Thanks for the link! I watched most of it bu missed the last part because someone entered and forced me to do my job >.> ...

But what can they show at e3 now? All they've got is Mario and Mario kart to show off now... or??

There's still Retro...

no, it shouldn't, we've already payed for our games.  If they want to raise the price for future downloads they can do that, but we have already payed for our games.  Can you imagine steam or Apple doing this

Separate VC for Wii U, from what I understand. So in order to have them on Wii U you need to pay, extra 80-120 bucks. By having them on the system you obviously would have an option of off-TV play.

Scratch that, I forgot you could transfer Wii VC games, but no Wii U functions. So you pay for Wii U functions technically, if you want to. Acceptable.

Not entirely pleased that they're going to want to double-charge for the VC upgrade, but if it were only a token fee (like $10 to have your whole collection upgraded in one go) then i won't mind.

As for the rest, i needs to see some videos. Damn me for sleeping in...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I hope Yoshi's Epic Yarn will be closer to Yoshi's Island than Kirby's Epic Yarn. KEY was too damn easy, I lost interest after a couple of worlds.
