It does bother me that they are so insistent towards trying to make me use my real name for my YouTube account. They ask me why like i have something to hide...

they ask me that all the time as well

Why has Google become so invasive of peoples internet activities and personal life ( well even more invasive than they were)

1) andriod phones automatically uploading pictures ive taken onto a google account i created a year or so ago and never used.......its killing my data usage on my phone, and also there are some pictures i've taken that i reeeeeallly don't wan't uploaded onto the internet for others to see, I don't remember asking them to do this

2) youtube, "you are about to make a comment on a video we will upload this comment onto your google acount" NOooooooo I don't wan't any of my mates knowing about my late night weird youtube video transitions of boredom.

So i thought id delete my google account, but in order to do that I need to delete everything associated with it including my andriod account which i have purchased things on, I'm guessing i loose out on re downloading items bought onto a new device if i do that

1.) goto settings, under account, select google, select google+, goto instant upload and turn it off.

2.) goto your youtube settings via web browser, account settings, sharing/privacy, and set your settings there.

Google is no more invasive than Apple or MS.

Both can be turned off

It uploads the photos but you get to choose if you want to publicize them. So basically, it's a cloud storage for your photos with the potential for easy sharing.

He's worried about data usage, not everybody has grand fathered unlimited data these days. I personally always have it on in case the SD card or phone goes dead, but I have unlimited data so that's not really a problem for me.

That's like saying everytime you get a new computer, they should have all your old settings on the new one, which is actually possible if you are talking about the Chrome browser, but not the entire OS itself, buying a new phone is like buying a new computer these days, the point is that I have just helped you, just be glad somebody is willing to help.

"and also there are some pictures i've taken that i reeeeeallly don't wan't uploaded onto the internet for others to see" I was just commenting on this part. Does he have limited upload? My download is the only thing that is limited

that's a good question, I'm not sure if upload counts againt total data or it's seperate from download, I've always had unlimited so I've never wondered about that.

1) you have to opt-in to that. Its not automatic so when you setup Gplus you turned it on. You can also just as easily turn it off or like me, set it to only upload over wifi.

2) youtube is google... it only shows on your youtube account. Not your googleplus account.

3) just look into your settings... its all there. Google uses opt-in for just about everything. So you clearly didnt' read ish before installing/making setting changes. But, no worries, you can also turn it all off and make it as private as you deem fit.

edit: and no, you dont' have to change settings with each phone. google backs up yoru settings if you opt-in to have it backup your account.

1) I didnt opt into anything, also i turned it off on my old phone, recently got a new one so should they not have kept my last request of settings rather than just uploading them again

2) its logged me out of my youtube account and uses my googlemail on youtube instead, asking everytime i like or comment on something to be uploaded to my google+ news feed, thats just google forcing their stuff upon you

ive sorted it anyway now.... was just more angry about finding a picture of my nob on the google+ upload  haha
