I can't believe that there are some US cities that rank higher than South African cities. That's just messed up and inexcusable.
Brazil is no surprise.
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

Why is Brazil no surprise? What kinda data do you have to support that (insert offensive adjective if wanted; I usually don't) afirmative?

Surprised Detroit's up there. It's not that bad really.
As others have pointed out, a lot of the murders attributed to cities can actually be narrowed down to relatively small areas or even neighborhoods. St. Louis, for example, is a great city on one side of the river but gets far more dangerous on the other side.
There is also the consideration that these figures depend on a certain accuracy of supplied data, which might not be up to nearly the same standards across the board. In some African countries, the government is the one supporting the murders, so are we actually going to get honest figures from them? It's like when people talk about X country having less rape than Y country without considering that rape is often not reported in many cultures.

Latinos are very emotionally charged people. The y love hard, they rage hard
Iraq at #44 and the only middle east country in that list? Starting to think this has a bias against South America.
Athens in Greece must definetely be top of the European league. There is uncontrolled crome there by illegal immigrants. I am surprised they didnt make it to the Top 50. That may be because crime by illegal immigrants is under reported there...

Wait, the Syrian Civil War casualties aren't counted?
I guess war deaths isn't the same as a homicide.

It's no surpirse because I had already known that it had a very high murder rate so seeing it on the list didn't surpise me at all.
