Why would I wish they'd never made the Vita? I don't understand that at all.

Its fan created logic. A PS fan can brag about PS3, but their rep will be tarnished so long as the Vita struggles.

Oh, lol. Does this mean that I shouldn't enjoy all the Ps3 exclusives this year and instead should worry about the Vita? Damn, I'm doing it wrong.

As I made clear I simply don't want less first party content on PS4 because of Vita.  Also Vita doesn't tarnish the PS3 sales one bit.  It's pretty obvious that home and handheld gaming are different beasts entirely considering Nintendo was dominant in handhelds while getting destroyed at home for 2 gens and Sony dominated home while getting destroyed in handhelds in the first year of PSP.

Part of me thinks that since the PS3 is picking up in sales the past few years, the PS fans got some of their confidence back from the glory PS2 days.

But then here's the Vita, the one piece of hardware that's holding back the PS fans from true greatness. This isn't about games, this is about bragging rights. As long as Vita struggles, they can't say with 100% confidence that Sony is a God again.

PSP never did well even when the real God of gaming (PS2) was the market leader.  Home and portable are entirely different monsters.  Look at Nintendo.  They lost home console market with N64 and Gamecube but their handhelds remained dominant in those years.

Yet here we are. PSP did great for a first timer. Totally different then the numbers Vita is pulling in.

yeah here we are because you brought it up.  I keep the handheld and home console market completely separate.  Why you would think that Vita not doing well would tarnish PS3 sales in the slightest is beyond me.

Vita resources impact console resources, like you said. Sounds more intertwined then you like to admit.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

80% of the studios that develop for Vita have never made a game for a modern console. Of the top of my head media molecule are the exception , but its not like the power of the ps4 would make much difference to a game like tearaway.

I think it should have been made, but hate things about it. Like how menus can only be controlled with the touch screen and how poor support for it has been.

we all know Nintendo will always have the handheld market, and you lost your argument in the back and forth of image, and saying they should support Vita through 2015. your post isn't consistent.

the right price cut, and games will increase sales, so don't give in yet. and the way things are looking, Vita has a chance of out selling the 3ds at least once this yr.

you can activate button/sticks control in the settings

As Sony fan I wish they never had made PSABR. The Vita is great device but it is too expemsive.

Yeah, I can see your point, I was just having a little fun. I think part of the problem is that it's difficult to think in ten year terms and so the urgency of getting those games is disproportionate. The clique, 'It's a marathon and not a sprint', hasn't really embedded itself in the minds of gamers and they can't see beyond 5/6 years and for some reason worry too much. Sony will support both consoles (well three for at least this year and next if the PS4 does release later this year or early next year IMHO) There IS an argument to be had that the Vita could actually provide MORE PS3 games. Take Sound Shapes for instance. That game was going to be Vita only but we also got it on the PS3. I would wait at least until the Vita is 4 years on the market before even considering if it is indeed stealing resources from it's bigger, less portable brothers.

'As Sony fan I wish they never had made PSABR. The Vita is great device but it is too expemsive.'

Why?

The Op and the people who agree with him are tards, seriously the Vita is an awesome piece of kit, it literally shits all over the 3DS in almost every aspect, the Vita has the better screen, better graphics, better controls and better online service, it's a shame that the sales don't reflect that but this is no cause for Sony to just dump it. As long as Sony makes money from the vita sales, it'll be enough.

The 3DS 3D gimmick is an absolute mess, sure it works most of the time but the low res and horrible jaggies just make it a nightmare in 3D, in fact many here have stated in the past that they play with 3D off....kinda defeats the purpose, but to each their own I guess.

The only 2 things going for the 3DS is the cheap price and the 1 year head start it has in games when compared to the Vita.

I'll say this though, competition is a good thing, it fosters new ideas and helps drive the competitive price down. At the end the consumer wins no matter what.
