I thought the title of the thread was funny. Nintendo is failing, but it won't be nintendo that will "replace" it's console. That will be the job of PS4/720.

I predict that there will be many disappointed MS and PS fans, when they realize that the graphics aren't dramatically different from the current gen.

Haven't you heard? 8 processors, 8 gigs of RAM, cutting edge graphic cards: the next generation is going to be quite a dramatic leap!

I wouldn't be super-surprised if this actually happened. I've also become dulled enough to no longer be disappointed if it does, either.

haha right? Dramatic jump from 1080p to 1080p =D Imagine 8 processors, the heat would be like the surface of Venus!

So today's revelation that Microsoft will have an "HDMI IN" on the neXtBox goes a long way to prove my hypothesis about MS's plans.

MS is clearly focused as much on the full entertainment features as they are games. My opinion still stands too that if they are the only ones to really offer this, they will easily dominate.

Expect a system where you're cable/sat connected to your xbox and your entire console gives you smart/socialization/search/etc.... basically microsoft's version of googleTV, but with full WP features from the start where Google left out a good portion of Android initially (and still barely getting it there).
