This technically isn't news, as it has been out for over a month, but I don't think it's been posted about on this site before. I didn't find out about the patch before today, and I couldn't find it being posted about here, so I don't think it is.
Anyway, this is a patch for Fire Emblem 12. That's not the 3DS one, but rather a remake of Fire Emblem 3, and for the DS. It never released outside of Japan, so the only way of playing the game in English is with this patch. I've just started it myself, and for the first hour - at least - there seem to be no major mistakes. I've encountered one typo, but that's something you can live with.

If you're very into Fire Emblem, you might also be interested in knowing that Tearring Saga has also had a fan made translation patch released. For those who don't know, Tearring Saga is essentially a Fire Emblem game, as it's made by several of the people who made Fire Emblem 1-5, but they left Intelligent Systems and made it for Ps1 instead.
