While it's true that I cringe at the sight of people playing something like Gears or COD, I highly doubt it is by any means a direct cause to violence. At most it's just a catalyst towards a bigger internal problem.

Do you cringe at similar things in movies or books?

Not books, but movies sometimes. I'm kind of hemophobic. (Had a accident when I was little where I lost a lot of blood). I'm totally fine with shooters that don't have much blood though Halo for example I can handle no problem.

Edit:Oh and the Metroid Prime series, I think I just dislike red blood.

You can't say that video games do absolutely nothing to promote violence however, if certain people follow actions from books and movies I can't surely say that videogames can't make people act the same way.

It surely isn't a direct reason though. Like just because I enjoyed Code Geass don't mean I'll try to become a martyr
