This guy is anything but impartial. He's so smitten with the game I don't see why anyone would think his review is unbiased. He's so in th tank for the game that the only thing he can say bad about it is they characters didn't kiss at the end.

Anyways @OT - FFIX is one of my most favorite FF games, I cant wait to play it again, its been so many years. Reading your review has given me the urge to play it again but I'm gonna play all of the games in order now (already finished 1 and 2 again).

I am sold by this unbiased review. Will be picking this one when in mood to try something new. I've never played a FF game from start to finish.

You will love it, before i played it, i didn't really have a great impression on final fantasy :) but that all changed after this game :P

Growing up i just had a problem with turn based system. Go attack come back and than enemy comes and attacks. I hope 10 years later i've matured to the point that i would be able to appreciate it. Feel free to write more unbiased reviews. You got my vote.

FFIX is a good place to start. My first Final Fantasy game that I bought was FFIX (and X) and it was worth it.

You'll love the storyline, music and the combat system is pretty good. The only thing that might be a turn off might be the designs of the sprites themselves , may look really weird but the visual effects of the environment were well made and artistic. The game is 4 discs if you plan to get the physical copy that works on PS1/PS2.

Also dont mind the colorful and bright colors of FFIX, a lot of people complained the design looked kiddy or too appealing for girls but the game overall is still great.

Not sure if the game is on PSN but if it is, worth it!

It is available on PSN for $10. The physical copies are going for $30 on ebay so digital would be nice. Also compatible with vita/psp it seems. Yea i am going to try playing new kind of games this year. Valkyria chronicles, Zelda, Persona, FF are some series i haven't tried. I hope i have the resolve to not buy the next call of duty.

FF IX's graphics aren't based on sprites...
