Forums - Gaming - Anyone Playing Dungeon Village? Its great! (Sim City + Dragon Quest)

I just got it yesterday. Its from the makers of Game Dev Story (Kariosoft).

Essentially, you play the mayor of a town in what amounts to Dragon Quest 3. You build shops and entice adventurers to quest in the game world around your town. The adventurers have various JRPG classes, and do battle in an FFXII-type way outside of down.

Its just $1.99 right now via Google Play. I'm about 4-5hrs into my first playthrough, and Im about 1/3rd of the way through the game. For the price, its a steal.

Not yet, i.e. I bought DV a few weeks ago but haven't started it yet. I played and loved Epic Astro Story though, another one of those addictive, cute games from Kairosoft. Easily one of the best smartphone developers.

Eh, it was ok. If you have played one kariosoft game you have played them all though. I still think game dev story is their best...

Got all kariosoft games for iOS (since it's what i've got). and they are basicly all good :)
only ones that are so-so imo are: Oh! Edo Towns & Venture towns.

Personal recommendations:
Pocket League Story - Manage a football team (real footbal, none of that american crap ;) )
Grand Prix Story - Manage a racing team, good replay value :)
Game Dev Story - the game that started it all, manage a game company :) fun for 3-4 runthroughs.

all of these games cost like 4-5$ easy worth the money if you travel and have time to kill.

all of their games are simulation games, you choose some over-arching stuff and the cute characters move around and do your bidding :) i pretty much buy all their games so i guess I'm biased
