Giving validity to your claim that only leaves linkz as the only possible third party. Yes, but do you really think having a possible gravemind with a fakeclaim of master chief? I don't think it would extend past the minor characters, as was the case in the past, with the members of noble team and especially captain Keyes I am thinking, which is pretty much a sub character which dies off halfway through the first game.

I am honestly thinking its linkz with another cult member on the loose, which he cold have converted either night 1 or 2, seeing as you claim would also clear radish as being unaffected by the attempted possession, which is weird. Either way, even if we do get the recruiter that will still leave for a tough ending as there is a chance that the people you've scanned before, or even you, or even spurge could have been converted since.

Why so certain it's a cult? And why so certain it's the Gravemind? DT made this theme because of Halo 4's release and what is the big thing about Halo 4? The Forerunners return. Wouldn't it make just as much sense for the last person to be some kind of survivor (or something along those lines) that is actually a Forerunner? Not sure what powers the Forerunners have but that might give an explanation for the mind control without contact (the Flood require one of their spores to control the nerves of the victim directly I'm pretty sure which wouldn't explain temporary control rather than permanent)

That has been mentioned before, so I decided to adapt it. It would make sense, but then again the characters that are present in the game are not only h4 related, we have it from every game, so there is always a chance that it's halo lore as a whole, not h4 centric. Your theory of forerunners temporary control is s reasonable one. I haven't played h4 myself, but judging from the scan trailer I've seen before, it could work. But flood is a legendary enemy, at the same time though, don't think it's a necessary part but shouldn't rule it out, as it is a much more significant part. Despite not being flavour centric, it's still pretty obvious that given name claims, not the fake ones there is some in there. 

For some reason I still keep linking the names to the game itself, and if my memory serves correct, cpt Keyes was one of the first prominent characters to be possessed by flood. I don't know, I am lost. But everything points to linkz for me.

@ABC Hmm...you might have something there. It is looking more and more likely (at least in my eyes) that there isn't a cult as well so him being a conspiracy theorist wouldn't fit into the whole scheme of things.

The roles seem unique  in this game so I'm really suspicious of NotStan. Linkz might be able to tell us someone tried to target him last night, so I want to hear from him too. I really don't think DT would have had two of the same role modifiers, it seems rather...unoriginal.
