Cant believe you would even link an article so stupid

I wonder if the OP even read the 'article'

Yes I read it.  He made a well written article but from a fans view.  Some things he says is interesting but at the end it shows his research was off when he said it was the first console to reach 70 million when we all know the Wii did that years ago.  So unless he is just talking about the Ps3/X360 he was clearly wrong.  Anyways, he made some good points and some bad so take whatever you want out of his article.

Two words -- backward compatability.

Without B/C, you are asking people to stick with you because of their past relationships but to purchase all new products.

The 360 had some emulated backward compatability.

If it does not offer at least something similar, how many of the "casuals" will feel compelled to stay with the brand.

And in a year's time is Windows 8 a blessing or a curse?

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

It's just that simple.

That's a pretty poorly thought out article. Some of the "facts" are off and the deductions/conclusions he makes take some fairly big jumps in logic. Investors must have much better sources of info than this.

About the only seriously egregious line of thought I found in the article, was the writer's conclusion that the self-predicted success of the Xbox 3 means invest now in Microsoft because it's going to make the stock price explode after the debut.

That is shockingly laughable and I will be equally shocked if MS' stock pops over $30 a share when that happens (currently sitting at $26.86).

I'm starting to think that the only people predicting massive stock exploding share prices are the poor saps who are already committed to going long on Microsoft stock. The Win 8 pop never happened, the Surface pop never happened, so now it's the Xbox 3 pop that they hope will pay off in their minds.

This article treats uncertainty as if it certain and WTF do hardcore gamers want anything to do with Apple? If you're a hardcore gamer theres a > 80% chance you've either got a Microsoft gaming PC or a Microsoft Xbox or both and I seriously doubt that there is more than a small minority in this group looking for an Apple gaming device and likely only only an official addon for buttons on the iPad/iPhone at that so it can be used like a handheld console.

Edit: I still however feel Microsoft will be the one to beat in the next generation. The battle has become more about software, services and networks because the games libraries aren't significantly different enough between the PS3/360 and the Wii U is entirely different again but without a strong online network coming into this generation from the Wii as it is building essentially from 0.

Tease.

What did they really make predictions of future sales, of unanouinced consoles with google hits?

How stupid is that.

We dont know anything ( just some rumour which are often false)
We dont know any price
we dont know any game that will release by launch

Sorry this article is really brainless.

And lets not forget injternet hype is not real hype. We have now seen it several times what internet hype bring Dissapointments.

this is all i could think of. thanks
