If the PS4 fails to Vita levels, Playstation will die. I expect an extremely competitive price. 300-350.

$699 dorrars, you will get 3 jobs to buy this one!
Sorry :D
About $449 as a base seems ok if the specs and sw are worth it, I'd even pay $699 if it was worth it.

$599.99 with a note on the box from Sony telling you to get a second job.

With a subscription I guess not, but the console will need to do a lot more things that just gaming and online in order to gather non-gamers into the subscription. The Vita has a "nice" price, the problem is those stupid memory card prices that don't help at all, and there are not many games to choice from (at least imo) but that's a different argument. Sony must have learned from their mistakes, if they don't, it will probably cost them even more millions (which they can't really throw away at the moment). |
NeXbox will be a multimedia center so yeah itll do a lot more and you are completely right about the memory card. If it wasn't for the memory card I probably would have bought it at launch.

This. I think they will sacrifice a bit of power (though it will still be more powerful than the Wii U) to keep the price down slightly and still be profitable. I think the Xbox 720 will probably be $400 or $450 so sony will seek to have the ps4 cheaper than the nextbox.

Unless its only 1.5-2x the power of the wii U, I'd say 399 is likely to turn a decent loss as opposed to profit. |
The Wii U is ridiculously constrained for power and it uses old technology. The PS4 will probably use 3* the power of the Wii U and will produce more performance per watt.
Tease.
Remember the Wii U is 'really' only $150 because of the price of the tablet controller. It's also using older tech which has diminishing cost returns (if the CPU cores were twice the die area it would be like $10-$20 more)
I'm thinking $400?

this is what people tend to forget. They can afford 1080p, 60fps and be close to profit at $400 considering they buy in bulk and have another year. That is just fine and will show significant improvement over WiiU as long as they keep stuff like BC and special controllers as add-ons.
If its a good Quality machine (which I have no doubt it will be) im more then happy 2 pay 500.
