Forums - Sony - Help me pay for my free vita

All,

I got a free Vita from Walmart. They aren't letting me pay for it. Allow me to explain.

On Black Friday I ordered the Call of Duty bundle for $199 with in-store pickup. I go to the store when they say it's ready and after waiting for an hour while they kept bringing out furniture to fulfill my order and a copy of Mario Bros Wii, they finally got me a standard Vita box. I explained that was not the bundle, and I had been waiting an hour while they dicked around. In the mean time, Best Buy sold out. So they were going to give me my money back, which I said was not good enough because I can't get the item now thanks to their screw up. In reality I could have ordered online but I had no faith I would receive the actual bundle. They claim that bundles are cross references with standard bo SKUs so the computer thinks a regular vita is the bundle. Whatever.

So after much frustration they agreed to give me the vita, game, and a memory card. I paid $40 and took home a 16 gig card instead. (So instead of getting the 4 with the bundle, I got a 16 gig for $40. Cool.) Anyway, all was well and I left the store. I then got a credit on Dec 7th for the Vita because I "did not pick it up" and essentially got a vita and COD for free. So I contacted walmart and they are not getting back to me. I have received something for free and feel morally obligated to pay for it. Does anyone have any suggestion on what I can do to resolve this? I want to just give up but I'd feel better if an employee would tell me to just keep it.

Another story: ordered Assassin's Creed 2: Brotherhood from amazon earlier this year. The day I ordered the price dropped $10. So I cancelled the order and ordered again. It was too late to cancel, so I refused shipment and they refunded my money. All was good... except my other order never showed up! It didn't show shipped or anything. So they cancelled that order and I ordered again. AC2:B coming for $30! Cool. Only... the second order showed up, too! I had 2 games and had paid for one. So I called them and they had me ship the other game back. (They provided a label for it.) When they got that one back, they refunded my money! I called them and they finally said to enjoy the free game.

Another story: ordered wife an Alienware in 2010. Two computers came. Hers, and one with nicer specs and a personalized nameplate for some guy called John. I called Dell, and they weren't going to let me keep this one for free. They sent UPS out twice (we missed them the first time) to collect it.

Wow, you seem to be a pretty lucky person. If WalMart doesn´t show any reaction but you still want to pay for it, why don´t you just buy another Vita, give it to charity and keep your bundle? This way you additionally would make a child happy (a Vita is a pretty nice christmas present)^^

KHlover, that is the best idea I've ever heard. I can do that then write it off my taxes. ;) Thank you for the suggestion!

Can I share my story?

So I went to Gamestop one day and I picked up Dead Rising 2 and took it home. When I opened the game I realized there was no disk inside so Gamestop must have screwed me. So I went back to the store and asked for another copy of the game, they were out of stock so they gave my 50$ in store credit, which I used to get AC Brotherhood. Anyways, when I got back home I went to my PS3 and when I tried to put AC Brotherhood in, I realized there was already a game inside. I ejected the disk and it was my Dead Rising 2. I must have put it in the PS3 and forgot about it. All in all, it was a good day.

So let's get to your issue. If you truly feel bad then donate 200$ to the Red Cross of a homeless shelter, better than giving it to Walmart anyways.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Shame on you for not going back to Gamestop to correct the situation. Obviously you feel that it's ok to take things that aren't yours if it is from entities that you do not agree with.

I will not give to the red cross after the 9/11 stuff. I usually donate to World Vision. I've also given to Heifer International but it's been a few years.

Oh, I'm so stupid. My family has donated for years to the Marine Corps's Toys for Tots charity. This is not really for a tot but that would be the best venue I am sure. I don't know why I didn't think of that one. :)

Thats awesome, I hope something like this happens to me too!

If they don't get back to you or won't correct it you could give the money to a charity. That way you will have balanced your karma.
