Question: Where are these high PS3 figures coming from? The system didn't even manage 10 million through two Christmases, so why and/or how would it reach 70 million in 3-4 years?

 Ironic that these are the same people who think my predictions for Wii are unlikely

 Wasn't the PS3 supply constraint through the first christmas. It has had only one christmas in Europe. The only time most people are willing to spend 500-600$ on a games console is at christmas, so it lost a lot of sales in the first christmas.

When it gets down to a mass market price (200-300$), it will start selling really well.

@AT

your wii prediction is stupid, thats why.

Anivash, you'll also can't say Wii will stay alive for ten years if you say to someone else the PS3 CAN'T.

Many people are going to see the PS3 as the better investment though for it plays video games as well and has plenty of other enjoyable features.

 Wrong again, most people don't care for the games on the PS3, GTA sells to 15 million over and over, that is not a large segment of the popualtion

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

wii 120-160 million
ps3 60-70 million
360 40-50 million

 More likely than your prediction of the PS3 hitting 70 million.

Lets see its been price cut repeatedly in japan, even cheaper than the US, and its still not selling well

Wii: 150m+
360: 30-40m
PS3: 20-30m

You're predicting that the PS3 and 360 will only sell 10-20 million more?

Is this to not contradict your prediction?

Try reading that again dtewi.

stop attacking each other on predictions and just wait for the future

Oh...so many crazy posts in here...
Well, my guess is:
Wii--->100 million
PS3-->42 million
360-->45 million

Those who call Wii numbers above 150 m are seriously insane, no joke (tough I would be pleased if you were right in the end). Also are the ones who put 360 under 25-30.
I think that at the end of gen Wii will had sell as many as PS3-360 combined
Could be wrong, but I think is kinda probable

I will bet that at least 1/4 of the people who bought the PS3 have only used it for Blu-Ray.

I'm pretty sure Blu-Ray is going to sell 15-20 million PS3s, and Blu-Ray total will sell 125 million players by the end of 2018.

Blu-Ray isn't the driving force though, it is the extra nudge that will make people shell out money for it.

 You actually believe Wii which is selling faster than both the PS2 and DS will top out at 100 million?  That is insane
