It would be really really nice if Renegade actually made sense, often I get more renegade points for persuading people (red lines) than I do for simply insulting them with the regular options or just outright killing them.

Having more control over your party members would be nice, it really sucks when I need some sniping work done quickly and my main character lack the sniping zoom skill.

More reasonable equipment prices would be cool, it seems like either I've got way to much money or only enough to buy 1 good piece of armor or gun.

Maybe they could make previously visited or completed sites on worlds marked? Sometimes I revisit a planet and wonder if I've gone to all the sites already.

Also I'd like to see a space battle or two in the sequel, shooting things up with your tank is fun but blasting away with your ship would be even better.

I want it to be turn-based. I almost not bought this game because it isn't turn-based.

More emo stuff.

More Drama.

Better villain. Saren is only ok. I want someone great.

Cool Music.

I hated the Mako controls, and the game is too buggy. At a certain point, money and omni-gel become entirely useless, which is sort of disappointing, I guess. Other than that, absolutely fantastic. I'd rather not see too much more focus on the romantic sub-plots; the two choices were sufficient and seemed plausible enough in the context of the game.

@flagship:

If you get the "Sniper Rifle Expert" achievement, you can add the Sniper Rifle talent tree to any future characters.

Did anyone else bother to go to Level 60? It takes 200,000 experience just to advance from 59 to 60!! Luckily (or not?), I was crazy enough to do it...

Oh, upgrades for the Mako would be nice too, such as being able to scan a planet for objects rather than always having to physically search for them. And as mentioned by others, the repetitive building structures could be sorted.

@madskillz:

I actually really liked the fact that every character could equip every type of weapon, even if they didn't have the proper training. They can still use them, just badly. It made the game feel a bit more real, somehow.

Well I hope you get an Asari Commando and a Salarian STG in your party in Mass Effect 2. I can almost guarantee that you will end up traveling to the Terminus Systems. That means we will finally get to see, interact, and fight the Batarians instead of only hearing about them.

Side Note: I'd want to the Asari Commando to be Aleena, after hearing Wrex talk about her, she has to be a complete bad ass.

Having just finished Mass Effect last night, I only have one thing to add to madskillz's wish list:

More Tali. For the love of God, more Tali.

Fix the graphic bugs
Better inventory
Longer main quest

I love this game, but the generic level design got old after awhile.
