Forums - Sales - How large is the mobile gaming market?

I was having a look at Buisnessinsider's "The future of digital" slides (http://read.bi/Vbludj ) earlier today, and came across something quite interesting. I've long wondered exactly how large the mobile gaming market is, and on slide 107, there's an interesting claim about it.

Later in the slides, it's claimed that roughly two thirds of the app revenue comes from games. Add that and the above graph together, and you get total games app revenue at roughly 2.3 billion.

I'm not completely sure about the overall sizes of the revenue on any of the gaming machines, so these were the best comparisons I could find for now.

For a comparison, Black Ops II passed 1 billion in 15 days, which means it's likely to end at 1.5-2 billion. In other words, not that far off the entire mobile market by itself.

Nintendo saw 8 billion in revenue last year. That was Nintendo's low-year, though. It saw 18.5 billion in revenue in 2009. That's including hardware, though. But obviously not including software from third parties on their machines.

Microsoft's Entertainment division posted a revenue of 4.24 billion in the holiday quarter 2011.

If anybody could find - or know - the overall revenue on the video game machines, that would be lovely.

It's also worth noting that I'm not completely about the credibility of the source. Buisnessinsider should be credible, though.
