Do these good things include actual games that will sell over a million?
What I expect is for Sony to tinker with pricing, features, bundles, PS Network and so on to absolutely no effect because they don't understand why a console sells.

Here's my problem with that, Kazuo Hirai was the president of Sony Computer Entertainment for (pretty much) the entire development cycle of the PS-Vita and he obviously didn't see the problems with its strategy; and many of the people who love the direction Sony is moving in also thought that the PS-Vita was going to dominate the 3DS before it launched.
I am really waiting to see what Sony is bringing with the PS4 because I have seen nothing that indicates that Sony has learned from their mistakes and is moving in a more positive direction; and I think it would be best for everyone if Sony doesn't go bankrupt and/or close the Playstation division.
Tried the Vita. Hate the thumbstick. Graphics were fairly good for a handheld.
Biggest problem. Id rather play its games on my HD 360. Oh and for on the move Id rather play XBL WP8 games.

Nope. PS3 managed to survive because of lots of price cuts and the Slim redesign + games like Uncharted and all the great 3rd party games like Call of Duty. |
IMO PS3 survived thanks to the "ecosystem" that PC, PS3 and X360 belong to. If the third parties only had exclusive options (develop for Wii, develop for X360, develop for PS3 or develop for PC) I'm sure the HD twins would have died long ago, but the install base of the HD twins + PC made it the de facto platform for third parties.

Hardware Wise Psp Sold well, its approaching 80m with is not bad...
But Software Wise is a huge huge fail.
Vita future is in Sony hands, Drop the price and it will probably pick up, i dont expect it to sell 20m or until 2014 but still better than nothing.
it seems to be down to games and price now,why you can't watch videos/have a decent web browser/social stuff seems a bit crazy from sony
looks like it will just build a loyal following and won't hit the mass market like the PSP did, needs a big japanese game too.maybe a good library and connectivity with PS4 can give it a better future when it's a lot cheaper
