Nice showing by Zidane. Cloud's popularity is something I will never, ever understand. I bought the game because he looked awesome in the commercials but he ended up being my least favorite party member. He was just a shallow shell of a character, to be honest, kind of like the protagonist in most visual novels. I guess the spiked hair and giant sword count for a lot.

I played FFIX but I don´t remember anything about Zidane´s character (except that he has a tail)...does he deserve to be number 3?

I like Cloud's story a lot, especially the fact that he's not what we think he is at the start of the game (an ex-SOLDIER member). The plot twist of him being just a simple guard (and basing his fake persona on Zack) was almost as shocking as Aeris dying.

Go Zack! It's hard to carry a game as the main protagonist. He should be where he is. I don't mind cloud but others more deserving could have been there.

A FFVII remake wont happen till FFVII-2.. Genesis from Crisis Core is still alive and well remember? He was underground the whole time. There was a clip of him before Crisis Core even came out!! It was on Dirge of Cerberus Weiss and Nero from DoC are also still alive and well if memory serves me correctly.
Expect FFVII remake next gen after this game for sure. If you read it and are angry, serves you right.

Totally agree with the top 2, but Sephiroth should be higher. Wahoo at all the FFVII names on the list though :)
