i'm going to be honest here. My cousin Tyrel, who when I was 6 years old I always went to his house to play the latest and best Nintendo games. it is because of him that I love Nintendo. but one day he moved away, and I didn't see him for a long time. I saw him again for the first time about a month ago, but he no longer was the cousin i once knew. he was converted to an Xbot. he had 1 XBOX original, and 3 360's, one of them with kinect. but I did not see one nintendo console, or anything nintendo in his house. the number 1 thing he played was Call of Duty, or Halo. he had even began to despise nintendo. I cannot describe what i felt that day, but its like he went over to the dark side. and that was the day I completely destroyed my 360. I spent maybe all night destroying my 360, until it was in many tiny pieces. I then dipped my Wii stand into glue, and covered it with the bits and pieces of my destroyed 360. and there it was, my Wii sitting on the ashes of Microsofts latest console. and I later got a PS3 and converted to a Nintendo/Sony fan :)

so in short, I don't get along with microsoft fans.

True story?

Anyways, I started posting on gaming forums this gen and even though I was a Nintendo fan, I thought the hardcore Nintendo fans were by far the most fanboyish and annoying of the three (maybe in retaliation to Wii getting so much heat ).

Then as it became clear that Sony had really fucked up with PS3, the hardcore PS3 fans seem to become the most annoying of the bunch and it has remained so even now.

I find this shows on this forum alot with a few select Sony fans (You all know them) who try to appear all innocent and unbiased/not too bias while being  negative about the other platforms by carefully wording their words so as not to be obvious even though I'm sure everyone sees right through them.

so is this logic correct?

MS fan acts like a fanboy = Innocent Angel who is just misunderstood and is only acting that way because of the savage Sony fans who bully MS fans for no reason

Nintendo Fan acts like a fanboy = yet another Innocent Angel who is just misunderstood and is only acting that way because of the savage Sony fans who bully Nintendo fans for no reason

4th gen Sega fan acts like a fanboy before PlayStation even exists = another Innocent Angel who is just misunderstood and is only acting that way because of the savage Sony fans who bully the other fans for no reason

Sony fan acts like a fanboy = OMG a heartless, barbaric and savage demon who kicks everybody while they're down and is so horrible. They bully other fans who wouldn't hurt a fly for no reason even when they are trying to be nice. They are so dirty and delusional and they started the whole Fanboy wars

^^^ Logical right?

how you got to understand that is beyond me - no sensible person thinks in such contrasts of evil and good - maybe you should be more specific in who you see stating such things ?

lol I'm exaggerating but you get the point

I got to understand that by just observing the big picture while being a PlayStation fan

Most of these people usually lie or exaggerate the whole Sony fan horridness. I call people out on it every once in a while and of course they usually have nothing to say

You replied as if you have some kind of guilty conscense like i was talking about you or something. I didn't get to the later half of the thread yet but i'm guessing you must be saying something negative about Sony as we speak? I will get around to reading your posts in this thread in a bit though

the point being you choose the worst, over-interpret it, and from it pretend to illustrate the mass and thus disqualify any truth in OP's claim ? otherwise please correct me

you are clueless about my conscience and since you seem to reason on feelings and morale would you care to illustrate when during this thread have you called out on any sony fan ? or are you sying it would be immoral to call on a fellow fan ?

I was exaggerating like i said before

you are clueless about my conscience

^^ yes i was clueless about you and that is why i basically admitted it right there AS CLEAR as day by saying that i have not gotten to the later half of the thread yet, Sherlock

and since you seem to reason on feelings and morale would you care to illustrate when during this thread have you called out on any sony fan ?

^^ lets take a look at what i said :)

i said -->  I call people out on it every once in a while and of course they usually have nothing to say

where did i say anything about calling anybody out in this thread, fighter?

oh, you pulled that 1 clean out of your ass didn't you? ;)

now i WILL admit that 1 of the people i called out are in this thread right now

or are you sying it would be immoral to call on a fellow fan ?

nah i usually don't see too many PlayStation fans saying stuff that the other fans would say. Other fans can take jabs at Sony fans and it will be ok but when Sony fans do it, it's WW3.

1/ you admit being clueless and at the same time you guessed i felt you were talking about me - good luck with that logic Dr. Watson

2/ why reduce the paragraph ? Oh yeah, becasue the definition of "it" was key...

Most of these people usually lie or exaggerate the whole Sony fan horridness. I call people out on it every once in a while and of course they usually have nothing to say

So my question still stands and you would realize that you admitted doing the exact same thing you denounce "lol I'm exaggerating but you get the point"

Sherlock : 2 -- Watson 0

3/ that is actually related to the second point lol - how you made it a thrid point is another illustration of your flawed logic

Sherlock : 2 -- Watson -1

1/ you admit being clueless and at the same time you guessed i felt you were talking about me - good luck with that logic Dr. Watson

^^^ clueless being that i didn't get to the later half of the thread yet so i didn't see what you were talking about with the other people. I did see the little blue reply thingy in the "vgchartz buddy" which went directly to your reply to me. I seen your reply to me before i seen your other comments.

This is why i stated right then and there that i didn't get to the later half of the thread, sherlock

SMH!

That's EXACTLY why i was exaggerating, sherlock

it's flawed logic because i spaced it out?? really?

what was "weird" about it? ;)

By "everything" I am talking about all the third party devs that made the Genesis popular. Sony's Playstation became THE 3rd party platform. Publishers could make all their money on Playstation without having to port to anything. If the Playstation never existed the 32bit gen would have looked a lot like the 50/50 split of the 16bit gen.

but weren't most of those 3rd party games also available on Nintendo aswell though?

I always thought that Saturn failed because of the hardware compared to the PlayStation.

Look up the fall of Sega and you will find theres line of reasons from  internal instability to stability to the launch of the Saturn to relationships with retailers and third party as to why Sega had issues with the Saturn, scrapped it and eventually fell after the Dreamcast. Hardware was only one of the reasons but for the major part they fixed most of the issues with the Dreamcast outside of the piracy issue.

hmmm interesting

what do you mean they sucked up everything that Sega had?

and so why didn't Nintendo go under aswell as Sega if they sucked up everything(i still dont know what "everything" is yet lol)??

Sega had pissed off retailers in the west and caused third parties to shy away from them with the Saturn launch. Japan and the US branches of Sega could not come to a mutual understanding concerning the future of the product. It was just pure confusion at Sega. The price also caused people to shy away from the Saturn, which in the early 90's was a whopping $399. Within two years of the Saturns lifetime they were ready to give up on it. Sega couldnt suck up anything because Nintendo had the majority of the third parties as dedicated providers to them. If Sony took anything from anyone, they took the third parties from Nintendo. I can understand Nintendo owners having a gripe with Sony, but not Sega owners.

So it WAS basically Sega's fault

and What exactly did Sony do to Nintendo to make them mad at Sony?

Nintendo and Sony were supposed to work together on a console but Nintendo pulled out. Nintendo was the one's who decided to stick with the cartridges

Nintendo wasn't pissed at Sony, the fans of Nintendo were pissed at Sony (while others jumped ship) because the JRPG's had switched to playstation. They found the tech Sony used to be far more favorable. Sony had gained the good  graces of third parties with their technological endeavours and they decided to side with Sony. The most notable names were Capcom and Squaresoft (not square enix yet) amongst a fleet of them. There were multiplats, but too few to constitute not owning both consoles because both truly were their own animals. Sony proved themselves adept to the politics of dealing with hardware development, pricing and support before they even hit the ground running. Before the existence of the Playstation brand it was Nintendo who Sega couldnt manage to pry third parties away from. They had to create their own pepsi like commercialism, using stars like Michael Jackson, Joe Montana and other famous names in games to get people to come towards their product. This is also where Sonic stole the show in the same vein as what Mario did for Nintendo. Truly, the 90's was the greatest generation to have console mascots.

yea i already know all of that

The Nintendo fans should be mad at Nintendo for that, not Sony

and yea, the 90's were the greatest!

I always thought that Saturn failed because of the hardware compared to the PlayStation.

Most of the 3rd party games available during the 32bit era needed the space available on a CD. N64 ports either cut out a lot of content or highly compressed it. One of the largest N64 carts was for Resident Evil 2.

Games like MGS, Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 as well as countless others were never available on the N64 or the Saturn. If the Playstatin never existed those games would have been Sega exclusives.

The truth about the hardware of the Saturn is very missunderstood by most people. It was actualy the more powerfull console of all three. But, much like the PS3 it was very difficult to program for. As a result publishers found it cheaper to make games on the Playstation and it's library grew to be huge. If devs didn't have the Playstation they would have had to choose between the small and constly format of the N64 and the large and cheaper format of the Saturn.

I think that if the Playstation had never existed that the Saturn would have been the exclusive home of games like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, and countless others.
