Konami has released the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 trailer that premiered during the Spike Video Game Awards over the weekend.

The PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 action game is in works at Spanish studio Mercury Team, the developer of the first game.

CLoS2 is a “much broader tale” than the first game, Konami said, and spans centuries.

This latest trailer shows in-game footage. “Just want to point out that everything in the VGA trailer is in-game,” wrote producer Dave Cox on Twitter. “There was no CGI. Everything you saw was captured direct from the game.”

I think Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is going to be one of the most beautiful games on consoles, heck the first game still is. I loved the first game and I'm sure the sequel will be better in every way, hopefully it's not another overlooked and underrated masterpiece like the first game, that would be a shame.

I hated the first LoS so much. So repetitive in terms of combat + fixed camera...Yuck!

I guess we will see what they do with this one... Doubt it will be any different though.

i keep meaning to pick up the first one,in the trailer for this one it has a modern city,was that in the first game too or was it all back in the day

question, do i need to play the first one in order to understand this one? also what consoles was it released on?

I can't wait! My friend lent me the first game but I didn't get the chance to beat it. I will pick it up in a few weeks with the DLC. From the little I played I could say it's an engaging game. I'm intrigued ... he seemed like a different person altogether in the first game. I really want to see how he goes from point A to Z.

I don't have a 3ds, and I don't plan to buy one either, so I'll watch the walkthrough or something since it is the 'bridge' between both games.
