If you read the first sentence in the OP it was originally a WiiU vs thread. But I decided to open it up to all consoles recently.

^ That's not very good when you consider it had well over a million on both of them when December ended, and now looks like it may already lose out to PS3 aligned with it's FIVE HUNDRED NINETY NINE US DOLLARS and direct launch competition with the ultra hyped Wii and 360 Gears of War.

 I feel like this year and the next year matter a whole lot more for the Wii U than the competition due to the power difference affecting longevity at least so far as mass consumers go. They really need to knock it out of the park at E3, and I HOPE they'll have Pikmin 3 before then... They can't just do these numbers for the rest of the year until October/November.

I hope if Pikmin 3 is released soon, the Wii U will catch the PS3 in sales (week to week, I know Wii U is ahead aligned launch)

Since this is sales data, can we assume Nintendo will claim at least 3m shipped by end of Q1?

Still way off from the lowered 4M estimate.   Shareholders will not be pleased.

The Wii U had a second week back from the dead moving 65,753 consoles this week. This can be credited to Lego City, Monster Hunter 3U, and to a much lessor degree NFS:MW & The Walking Dead:SI recently releasing.
Retailer bundles & discounts are also to thank as many retailers have taken the personal initiative to make the Wii U a better value to potential costumers.

Yeah, that's probably pretty accurate.
