Then why ban Forza and Gran Turismo threads?

They are banned when insults get thrown around, people become disrespectful, etc. 

Also, all Forza and Gran Turismo threads aren't locked. Here's two threads about Gran Turismo here

The mods allow people to make threads about Gran Turismo if they want. Same for Forza.

First off to those jumping to the conclusion that the OP means stop all PSN and XBL threads - That is NOT what he means. He means to stop creating threads regarding PS+ vs XBL where people keep on bickering about which is more appealing, a better value prospect, etc. At the end of the day it's all a matter of situation and preference. These threads are being created at a rate of about 2 per week over the last month and it's the same people from both camps sharing their own opinions ad nauseum.

Rule #9:  ...Similarly, even if it's well defended, repeating your opinion about a console or game multiple times is also spamming.

We don't ban Forza and Gran Turismo threads. The incident a couple of weeks back started with a poor thread (although the topic was approved by a moderator, the content was poor) that spawned a number of retaliation threads and in the end none of these threads was of any measure of valuable discussion. They were all "Here are my goal posts so that my preference shines better". We're fully happy to see people discussing Forza and Gran Turismo reasonably but to my recollection that has NEVER happened on these boards. 

As for these constant PS+ vs XBL threads, I'll have you know that we are keeping tabs on these like we do for as much as we can on these boards. If discussions occur reasonably then there's no reason to shut them down but if too many threads spawn to beat the same arguments to death we will intervene. I will say that we're quickly approaching the tipping point. 

With that though, this thread is unnecessary. You can't tell people what to or not to discuss on the boards. That's the entire point of the boards. If you feel people are going overboard in their "sharing" of a particular topic, bring it to the mods' attentions.
