Forums - General Discussion - Statistics for PS3 New IP Million Sellers

I'm not surprised by this. PS3 has an older demographic which means several things. They have less time for gaming so they will probably wait for a good chance to pick the game up. They are also likely a more educated consumer and wait for the general reception to the game before deciding whether it is worth the purchase. I personally rarely purchase a game day one and usually order games online (since I don't care about waiting a couple of weeks but I hate the limited selection in stores).

Aw man! I came in here expecting PS3 exclusives, but got all of new IP's released on PS3... My fault for reading too much into the title =) But a really interesting read none the less!!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Playstation 3 owners are also more likely to have more refined tastes, are likely to be more handsome than their feeble X-Box and Wii owning counterparts, likely have larger genetalia, and always smell like lemon pledge.  They never get parking tickets, they care for wounded animals, give generously to charity, and are simply wonderful people.

I 100% agree with this post.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

It has nothing to do with the fact that they are PS3 owners as much as it does their age. Most people over 25 have families and careers, gaming has taken a backseat for them. They are also spending their own money and have many more important expenses. They will likely budget which games are a higher priority for them so they don't own a backlog of games they really don't want to play.

There was nothing in my comment to insinuate that PS3 owners were naturally superior to their counterparts. Don't go looking for trouble where none exists.
