Well EA has said before this has to sell extremely well for the series to continue, but I trust EA about as much as I trust Capcom.

Dead Space 1 is easily one of my favorite survial horror games of all time.
Dead Space 2 was a very good sequel that only lacked in the scares and was drifting a bit towards action
Dead Space 3 looks to be a lot more action and less scares, but if the game is still fun then I really don't care. Will hopefully get in It's release month.

It's just that simple.

Is it worth to make a franchise more casual in order to make it sell more? Im not on that wagon and although there are exceptions, most of franchises that get milked towards being casual/more action/less complex, are ruined in the process:

Resident evil - final fantasy are prime examples

I don't like all those characters in that screen. Scary isolation > this.

You won't regret it. I've probably played through Dead Space 2 more than 20 times by now, and I still find it awesome.

Sad truth is that the action is what makes me want to come back though, so I'll wait until I start criticizing their new approach. The horror really only lasts a few play-throughs, as expected.

I agree. Being alone is what makes Dead Space awesome. However, DS2 improved upon DS1 in almost every way so I have no reason to be skeptical until I know more.
