i tought i saw in the trailer ninty was publishing the ip. this make little since. well sigma will likely have content that makes it different then the Wiiu version.

M$ published Ninja Gaiden 2 for the 360, and the PS3 got the game (with another name).   Based on this, I can say that if the publisher does not own the IP, then the game´s content can appear on different consoles.

yea and they added aditoinal content to the PS3 version. a few characters. yea it's been a bit. i don't remember wht content it was.

This game alone sold more than every Ninja Gaiden game combined on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (japan)...

I...don't think that's true. Unless you're limiting NG and Bayonetta to just Japan sales, in which case I still don't think it's true, and even if it was, so what?

If this really was part of a deal with Nintendo, I hope it means their relationship with Team Ninja is soured and we don't have to worry about the next Metroid being Other M 2.

Let's properly assign blame for that one; Sakamoto is not a Team Ninja employee.

Who worked on practically all previous Metroid games, again? Oh right, Sakamoto. Who was the one of the two who developed Ninja Gaiden 3? Team Ninja.

Sakamoto was responsible for Other M's story and characterization of Samus. The latter, in particular, is the reason behind the bulk of the hatred for Other M.

EDIT: oops

I swear I remember video dev diaries of Sakamoto saying Hayashi convinced him to have Samus appear out of her armour much more, and he was reluctant to go that direction originally.  If that's true it sounds more like Team Ninja's influence.

Team Ninja was responsible for the gameplay. The story and narrative were all Nintendo.

@The Bard's Song

I'd agree with you if Other M was panned for it's gameplay. It was panned for the narrative and how Samus was portrayed. Yes Team Ninja is not an elite dev team without Itagaki, however you can't blame them for the aspect of the game that was NOT their responsibility.

lol I was talking to my Nintendo rep about this earlier last week to about how Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge was published by Nintendo in the US... but how that means nothing. Or at least we assumed it was because he was able to track inventory on his end when they can't for third party games normally.

Bad for those that bought NG3, good for me since I held off on NG3. I've been burned like this before tho. See Blaz Blue or Marvel vs Capcom 3 or Street Fighter 4, I've had to buy multiple versions of those games before.

lol you and me both man. As soon as I saw razors edge as a subtitle I knew what was coming. They are just milking this franchise.

@ Heavenly King Sega don't own the rights to bayonetta 2. Platinum do. That is why they look for the publisher. When sega cancelled it they gave up all their privellages. The only one willing to publish bayonetta 2 was nintendo so it has become wii u exclusive. Of course that is at this moment. Anything is possible but don't forget nintendo seem to be publishing multiple platinum games so they might still be in contract with nintendo for other games yet. In which case the contract will continue, see rare, gears of war, insomniac and sk.

In theory it can go multiplat if someone else is willing to publish it but if they are in contract with nintendo to publish a number of games yet it won't be happening anytime soon.

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

I already told you guys in another thread that Team Ninja was already on it. No way Tecmo could leave the majority of the fans behind. WiiU is not even out everywhere yet and it's already losing exclusives lol.

You know what's worse? I actually kind of like Other M. I just feel like they should take a different direction for Metroid

I like it too. Nothing to be ashamed of. It's an excellent action game, in my opinion.

So, who were those people that said Nintendo helped Team Ninja?

The game was already released on PS360, so how could it be an exclusive?  Or are you confusing Ninja Gaiden for Bayonetta?

This was bound to happen considering that even Ninja Gaiden 2 being published by M$, appeared on the PS3 with other name.

Most probably the new edition will be named Ninja Gaiden 3 Sigma.

Edit: I wonder what will happen with Bayonetta 2.   Will Sega be able to find a loophole? I wonder what kind of contract they did with Tecmo and Sega.

Nintendo is funding that so I doubt Sega would be able to pull any strings really.  I would think Nintendo would have those avenues sewn up, so I don't think Bayonetta 2 is going anywhere else.

BTW, Chandler won the thread.

"LOL" indeed.. who will buy this from the PS360 crowd?.. those who already bought it are being asked to pay again.. yes it is LOL.
