I believe you are correct. However, that wouldn't automatically mean they own the additional content: the contract would be the ultimate arbiter of what happens next.

Ninja Gaiden is the most important of the absolutely not-important games on the internet, I think.

This game alone sold more than every Ninja Gaiden game combined on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (japan), plus it's a critical darling.

Not saying it's big big, but it's on a whole different level.
