Have these people ever heard of fact checking? Bluray has been invented by Sony and Philips, not just by Sony corp. In fact there's a whole group of manufacturers behind this storagemedium and Sony has a equal part in that. Philips is the big company behind the screens but somehow the net convinced people this is Sony exclusive.

Philips had some great figures to show today btw. One of the few companies that didn't suffer in the terrible stockday.

I bet there will be at least 5 people in this thread that try to disprove this and will fail miserably. I bet 50 vg$.

Nice read and article. It probably will beat HD-DVD userbase, if there was any. But going against DVD well it's going to be tough considering the majority of people own a DVD Player and not a Blu-ray player yet.

movies aren't some 5 mb mp3's that you can download in a sec n pop into yer i-pod...

movies are more than 400mb (good quality), take itme to download...transfer to hard drive

That isn't mainstream at all...

So blu-ray is really helping Sony overseas.

@gazz, back when the format was in Jeopardy HD-DVD supporters labled Blu-ray as "another sony format" to add to the list. So much momentum behind Sony failing sometimes :P

And PS3 wasn't even included in the study.
