Super Mario Bros 3. Don't even know how old i was when i started playing. 4-5 maybe. My mom taught me how to play.

I agree. I was 7 when I played my first game on PC, Red Alert. I still play it from time to time, still a great game. I've been a big gamer ever since.

I was 3-5 when I started playing games so I put 5-8. Very interesting though. Great thread.

Its not a big deal. I just know both of my brothers eventually moved away from gaming. They are in their late 30s/early 40s, but they grew up playing the Atari and were always playing SNES when I was growing up. I'm 25 and slowly moving away from gaming. Its not so much that I don't want to play games. I'm more just disappointed with the options from this generation.

Started when I was like 10 years old and I had a PS2. My first game ever was probably Prince of Persia Sands of Time. Then my cousin had bought a PS1 and he had Gran Turismo 1 on it. He also had some weird ass barbie explorer game and at the time it was the hardest thing ever for me lol I still haven't beaten it to this day. Then I got into the old school ps2 classics mascots (classic for me). Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter. There were a couple other random little games in between but I can't remember their names.  

7 years old I think. The game was either Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario 64.

My parents got into gaming at about 18-20. They bought a ZX Spectrum, and they played PC adventure games like Monkey Island through to about 1995. Then the genre died and they stopped any kind of gaming. The only games they have played recently are the Telltale Monkey Island, and they were interested in Simcity 5 until I told them it was all online and socially integrated. I would say the game industry basically failed to have what they want and that's the only reason they stopped.

Myself: Mario Kart 64 followed by Super Mario Bros. (GBC), age 6-7.

I kind of want to go back and play some of the games that I remember as being incredibly difficult, just to see if they're as hard as I remember. I remember my sister and I could never beat the final Bowser fight on Super Mario 64. I can't even remember how long we tried......I have a feeling it would be laughably easy today.

Dude I just did that with prince of persia! I had it on my ps2 and I got so frustrated that I quit playing. Got it on pc like a month ago and I finally beat it. It was a bit challenging but not as hard as I remember lol.
