Forums - Nintendo - Are Sega tring a Ni9ntendo Software Style approach?

since the launch of the wii we've seen a pretty decent debut by Sonic and in Mario and Sonic we seen introductions of a lot of old Sega characters. Last quarter we also had Nights being relaunched and the announcement of Samba de Amigo and the annnouncement of Zero Gravigy Riders (yet another game with a vast lineup of old and new Sega characters.

In the first year Sonic and Knuckles have been in more or at least just as many Wii games than Mario and Luigi and it struck me that with Sega Tennis trailer that this could have easily been Mario Tennis and they also took the opportunity to get samba and Nights characters into their 2nd game so soon) - is this the way Sega are gonna head with their characters? (they've had decent success so far with games with Sonic included selling 3.34M on the Wii to date and still racking up sales) I think that 08 may just see a traditional Sonic game being announced for the Wii and plenty more nintendo style Sega sports franchises being announced.

Around the Network

Well it works for Nintendo, and really Sega is the only other company that has a roster of characters that could possible compete with Nintendo. After the success of Mario & Sonic, It sure doesn't surprise me that Sega is going to try a little bit more.

Can I just say that Sega Superstars Tennis looks fantastic? Since they make virtua tennis, I'm sure they have the know-how to make it a really good tennis game. I can't wait!

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

Yeah I really fancy that game also but I havde high hopes for Top Spin 3 - I just loved orig Top spon on Xbox even if it was a virtual tennis rip off.

Game shop had Virtual Tennis 3 on 360 for £5.00 pre owned but I couldn't bear the thought of playing tennis game with controller anymore. damn you wii Tennis
