Here in Brazil the cost of a wii is R$ 1.999 = 1120 USD

WHAT !!!!

I'm on Chile and the wii is just 250.000 pesos = 450 USD . I can't believe it costs that much on Brazil and we are both in the same region.

By the way, this is my first post ... hello everyone !! =D

Taxes my friend. Chile is the most free market oriented country in all Latin America. In Brazil we pay up to 130% on video game related products. Why? To help the national industry, the problem is that there is no $^%** national video game industry. I have seen Wii games for U$ 150 ( ports from EA ).

I once saw someone take the Red Medicine in the Legend of Zelda instead of the Heart Container.

Stupid.

With a note you can buy that medicine for like a measly 200 rupees.

You can't buy back that lost heart container though.

Ohh you probably meant something more recent then the NES Legend of Zelda.

How about someone buying a 360, trading it in for credit with all his games, 2 weeks later buying another new 360, selling it to his friend and then buying yet a third 360 about a month later?

This person doeasn't post here, by any chance, does he?

Nope. At least, not the person i was talking about.

Of course I also had a friend who owned one system and one game... and everytime he beat a game he would trade it in and buy a new one... when he wanted to trade systems he'd do the same.  That to me is also an attrocity.  But i'm a videogame packrat.

So what if this friend you had bought the Sims or Nintendogs or Anial Crossing, a game that's practically unbeatable?

That is an attrocity. Tenagain if his game was Zelda he would have nothing to play with friends, and if it was Mario Party he woud have nothing to play by himself.

So why did they call it the 360?because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away- some guy on Gamespot

In 2001, My girlfriend's nephew and I had PS2's. My girlfriend's son got an XBOX for Christmas. He tried so hard to impress me with Halo, but I was an asshole, and kept telling him that the XBOX sucked. About a week later, the kid traded it in for a GAMEBOY ADVANCE and some crappy games. I felt so shitty. The kid was just trying to impress us. He wanted to be a part of my favorite hobby. Right about that time, I quit being a fan boy.

Canada:

360 costs $350 in the U.S.A. and costs $400 in Canada.
PS3 costs $400 in the U.S.A. and costs $400 in Canada.
Wii costs $250 in the U.S.A. and costs $275 in Canada.

Other than PS3, I'm pissed everything costs more in Canada.

p.s. I almost forgot - Games in U.S.A. $60 and games in Canada $70.

He just got rid of em when he got bored of em i guess.  His argument was "If I want to play games with my friends i'll go to their house."

Weird guy.  I'd say he was just cheap but he'd go all out on other stuff.  A lot of which you got no permanent returns on.
