One other thing they could lift from Corruption
That faux-choir was really effective at certain points in the soundtrack - mostly the title screen and the credits.
I'd be okay with using a choir for the title screen and the credits.
Otherwise everything needs to be synthesized; it just fits Metroid better. Maybe they can convince me otherwise! But so far they haven't.

The formula is pretty perfect, so I wouldn't change much of anything. That being said, I think the Metroid Prime storyline has pretty much run its course. So I would prefer a new Metroid set at a different time in the mythology.
