Forums - Microsoft - How does Halo 4 MP stand against other Halos?

In my opinion I found that Halo 4 MP is well balanced and thoroughly enjoyable. Its not as ridiculous with the armor abilities compared to Reach as H4 has armour abilities that can be countered accordingly and effeciently. And the sprint ability being present to all spartans makes the gameplay much MUCH faster.

Although a couple of guns are OP like scattershot and SAW. For those afraid about the load out, kill cam and damage identifiers being added to the game. Ill say this to you, Halo 4 mechanic does not become "cod-like".

Long-short story: I had doubts of H4 MP priorto its release but now I know that it has come back to its roots once more. The core Halo. I can safely say that H4 MP is on par with H3 MP. And Halo3's MP is pretty hard to equal.

What do you think?

-Is anything OP?

-What dont you like about H4 MP?

-Why do you like H4 MP?

It's on par with Halo 3's MP and better than the rest I reckon.

Don't think any weapons are really overpowered, I'm a BR or DRM (?)guy anyway even though I can handle them all decently.

Currently don't really have any dislikes.

Likes: XP system for assists etc, Challenges, Vehicle gameplay is still a blast and movement is a bit quicker due to sprint, it doesn't break the game at all but I finally feel it's no longer a chore to run somewhere. and the Menu is sleek and easy to nav.

Hopefully I can get in 8 hours of MP tomorrow.

Halo 3 > Halo 4 > Halo: Reach

In my opinion.

It is most definitely comparable. In fact, I even find it slightly superior to all other Halo games.

No weapons are overpowered, or at least not more overpowered than weapons of previous Halo games. Halo: CE had the extremely powerful rocket launcher, Halo 2 had a slightly weaker rocket with far faster blasts and lock-on features and Halo 3 had the spartan laser.

What does Halo 4 have? Same weapons as before, except the laser has one charge less, rockets don't lock-on ground targets, the sniper rifle has less bullets, the BR needs one more burst to kill targets compared to all previous games, the DMR still has bloom, the new one-hit-K.O. sniper has useless accuracy on short range, only two bullets per mag' and is visible from all ranges through its laser sight, the grenade pistol is not stronger than a plasma grenade, the new grenades are very weak and easy to notice and avoid, the Rail Gun has poor accuracy and small explosions, the incineration cannon, though more powerful than the rocket, only have one bullet per mag and takes very long to reload. Not to mention that it actually requires a lot of efforts to even acquire the more powerful weapons found in the game.

If anything, Halo 4 features the most balanced competitive multiplayer experience yet.

I dont know if its just me but I found that Beam rifle/Binary/Sniper rifle are acually more accurate than other halos. Would you agree?

Hard to tell. So far I have played most games in split-screen, but it does feel like more shots hit the targets this time around. And the Binary Rifle is basically more accurate by default since its scope reaches further than any other sniper.

They still allow 4 player splitscreen online right?

Yup, but as expected (and as seen in all previous games except Halo: CE) the graphics are significantly worse. No sparkles, less shadows, overall less details and some frame drops at times.

Though, the actual split screen gameplay experience obviously makes up for it :P

Halo 3>Halo 2>>>>>Halo 4>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Reach

Didn't count Halo 1 since i didn't really play much of its multiplayer. Truth to be told i hope Microsoft releases halo 2 hd WITH multiplayer
