It would have to be Gran Tourismo.
The developers spents much of their effert on the graphics, sound, physics, music, lincences that they actually forgot to make it fun. They took themselves far to seriously :p

Halo: combat evolved, I very often got bored with the story and started killing my own soldiers in novel ways
Actually, I had this feeling about Metroid Prime 3. I just know that it's a great game. It has good graphics, great gameplay, great controls, lots of action, pretty cool storyline, nice moves, but somehow, if I play for one or two hours I get bored. I haven't even finished it yet and still I somehow feel more motivated to get some more S-rankings on Umbrella Chronicles instead of taking the final stretch on MP3. It might have something to do with the overly cold, sterile and mechanic environments that do not evoke any atmosphere IMO... I don't feel like I'd have missed anything if I hadn't bought it.
I drink your milkshake.
anyone played maple story? XD well there you go
God of War: Perfectly serviceable, decent technically, but it never grabbed me. At least it didn't have a stupid camera that made it unplayable, like Kingdom Hearts.
| Krasnaya Yastreb said: I tend to like slower paced games, so very few games can really bore me. While I love Sim City I’ve always found The Sims to be extremely dull. Whereas in Sim City you get to create an entire city to your liking in The Sims you just guide people around everyday mundane activities… It’s the only game where everything I do constantly reminds me that I’m wasting time (instead of telling my virtual character to read a book, maybe I should go read something, etc.). |
Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
I've got to say that my overall perspective is quite a bit different ...
I think some great games have quite a bit of crossover appeal which makes them fairly accessable for everyone while alienating a small group of gamers (who look for a more pure experience), while others are targeted towards a specific target demographic who love the game but they become far less enjoyable to everyone else.
For me, Oblivion is a game which takes the PC/Western style RPG too far (which makes it frustrating and thus borring) while Halo 3 is far too shallow in comparison to the FPS that I really enjoy (which makes it too simple and thus borring) ...
Twilight Princess.
Stab this guy!
Enter temple!
Solve a puzzle!
Go to twilight realm!
Solve puzzle!
Collect 8 tears!
Beat boss puzzle!
Repeat 8 more times!
It was simply too repetetive.

SCK3U is fantastic and definitely the best city simulator around (SC4 is too tedious), TWW is my favorite Zelda and I didn't really think the triforce quest was that bad (but I guess that's opinion) and as for Civilization well... It is boring, but for some reason it's so darn addicting so I can't say anything bad about it. :P I've been tabbing in and out of CIV4BTS all night. (trying to win a Culture victory with Stalin and the Russian Empire) |
I agree with your thoughts on SC3KU. I loved that game. I'm trying to play SC4 right now, and there's just too many fine details to figure out.
