Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft making Xbox Surface! 7 inch gaming tablet!

http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/6/3608432/xbox-surface-xbox-tablet-7-inch

"We've learned that part of the Xbox Surface is being developed at Microsoft's offices in Silicon Valley. The software giant recently locked down several Xbox-related buildings, limiting employee access to the company's Interactive Entertainment Business division. The lock down is likely related to Microsoft's increased testing of the tablet, providing a way for other parts of the Xbox team to build games and software for the device. Providing the project doesn't get killed in favor of a full 7-inch Windows tablet, in the same way Microsoft axed Courier, expect to see the Xbox Surface debut ahead of Microsoft's future Xbox console."

Exciting stuff!

All of the MS fans are playing Halo 4.

I'm interested in the story but I'll wait until there is more to be known to express it.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Is it going to have buttons, sticks, and triggers?

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Shigeru Miyamoto

Surface pro is good enough for me. If it can follow Nintendo's path and make it work awesomely with their neXt8ox, even better.

I wondering this too.  Will it act similar to the WiiU gamepad but with more functionality?

This sounds enticing my only problem with it is it uses Windows and not Android or iOS.   I'd sooner get a Wikipad if I can use Xbox Surface features on it.

I don't see how this is different than the other Surface tablets, aside from being 7"?

Seems to me they'd simply incorporate Live into all their Win products as they already are. What would a "Xbox" branded tablet even mean unless it had some form of controller add-on for real controls. Then in reality, it should just be an "Xbox controller" add-on for Win8/RT based tablets utilizing some standard connection.
