Masataka Takemoto from the Entertainment Analysis & Development Division has revealed that it took Nintendo three years to develop New Super Mario Bros U for Wii U. Development for the game started when work had finished on New Super Mario Bros Wii in December 2009. New Super Mario Bros U has an average review score of 84 on Metacritic.

Time is also relative to how big your development staff is.   Nintendo doesn't often work with huge teams like 3rd parties do.

Wow, surprised by ONM scores for ZombieU and NintendoLand. Higher than expected, specially the last one.

It's a Mario game, it has 25 years of catalog music to work with.

zombieu 92,that's pretty impressive,good old london town,i think the wiiu pad can be well integrated into games for good uses,

nintoland must be good for a 90 too

they don't rate fifa that well surpringly,how different can it be,nsmbu is fair enough i guess,tekken good too

things looking very good for the WiiU

It's a Mario game, it has 25 years of catalog music to work with.   

So why not make GOOD music then? :P the music in NSMBwii was generic as shi... wasn't all that great...
