Forums - Politics - What is worse? 20% across the board income tax cut or cutting medicare by 716 billion?

Obama isn't for killing medicare. You've been lied to. The 716 billion isn't cutting money from benefits. The cuts are being made on the provider/hospital side to curb waste, fraud and abuse in the program.

So, I guess to answer your question, Romney's 20% income tax cut is worse, because that is something that he actually proposed, rather then something that's been made up and blown out of proportion.

I would also like to add that the medicare reform proposed by Romney running mate Paul Ryan contained those same cuts to medicare providers, for the same reasons.

We're living in a culture of lies and deceits.
Everyone is trying to get maximum gains without contributing, if possible.

People are disgusting.

You've been lied to but I think you should vote for the Romster anyway.

The world needs a strong USA as a beacon of light in this dark world.

And the guy has charisma.

Voting for a president in the USA and believing in the things he says is like believing in some Apple Guy saying there won't come a new iPad for a long time :D

You just have one option > Hope you vote for the lesser evil.
The USA will never be as great as Europe, especially countries like Austria,Sweden and so on.
Healthcare everywhere - You have to try to be homeless and poor in those countries
Jobs, nice people, super fast internet connections everywhere and all that stuff

Its probably easier to manage those things if you don't waste money in "saving" the world with brute force from stuff that isn't even there.

Umm, Obama didn't "cut" Medicare by 716 billion, he just slowed the growth by that much, so it's life was extended by 8 years. Romney reversing what he did will kill Medicare in 4 years. Why do you think Obama would want to kill Medicare, democrats made it lol.

Which you know... is just going to lead to doctors and hosptials refusing to take anymore medicare patients.

Heck with the flood of newly forced insured patients, they'd be crazy to do so.

Essentially it's going to be near impossible to find a medicare doctor... and when you do... they will probably suck.

yeah, letting people keep more of their own money is a terrible idea.

"As for the cuts, they come from eliminating a massive subsidy to private insurers and gradually reducing the rate of growth in payments to some providers. These changes, while not catastrophic for Medicare, are important. Under the ACA, the federal government will substantially reduce the amount it spends funding Medicare Advantage, which is privately administered insurance offered to Medicare beneficiaries."

Ignore the spin, those cuts are beneficial. The only people who are losing out are the assholescumbag insurance company executives who want to skim +30% off the top to fund their lavish lifestyles. Fuck them!

"Profit margins basically reflect the percentage of revenue left over after paying salaries, expenses, taxes and lots of other things. So it's possible for firms to pay their executives a lot and still have a low profit margin. That's why Merrill Lynch, as an example, was able to pay huge bonuses to some employees while the company itself lost epic amounts of money."

But we should ignore that and let them plead poverty with some seriously strained math.
