PS3 sold more each year than the 360 (aligned launches). PS3 did just fine, it just looked worse due to high price and year late launch as compard to 360 and the fact that Wii destroyed everything through 2009.

Vita is significantly worse in every conceivable way.

Absolutely.  I don't understand why people continually point to the PS3 as an example of Vita's future.  The PS3 was doing far better at this point in its life - with a much higher price to boot - and it was definitely poised for a much better future than the Vita is.

Vita hasn't even had a single holiday yet. Anyway I'm talking about a rocky start getting better not worse. That's sure what the PS3 did.

Again, the PS3 didn't have a rocky start. It sold well and better than 360 each and every year. It did increase its sales every though through 2010/2011 (nearly tied those years) and is just now slowing down.

It only looks bad in relation to a 360 that had a year head start, a Wii that dominated everything and a PS2 that dominated everything.

Vita is no comparison in any manner. Holidays or not, it is not the same and so far hasn't show any improvement in any manner either.
