Uncharted still looks better IMO. I was a bit disappointed when I saw The Last of Us at first.
It's time for a new console generation (ignoring WiiU as usual  )

What we need is not more power and better graphics, we need more creativity and better gameplay. No one can see this boring soulless Uncharteds or Call of dutys anymore. We want new ideas, better gameplay, creativity not only the old crap with a few more polygones over and over again. So the current consoles and their power is not the problem.

Uncharted has at worst good gameplay, and it took cinematic storytelling far beyond anything else seen before, can't that be appreciated?

Oh, and calling Uncharted "soulless" tells me you haven't played it.

Or maybe he has played it and he honestly found it soulless? Quality is subjecive, different strokes for different folks.

I really like the Uncharted games, but as with all games I like, I can see how others might not find them so appealing.

Personally i think The last of us looked better from a technical standpoint. Better animations, better AI, more details, better charakter models. But i personally like the indiana jones setting more than this one.But we havent seen m uch yet so very difficult to say.

But call me a fanboy now i think God of War Ascension will look better than the Last of us.

That's just such an odd criticism for a game so rich in art and drama. It's like calling a Civilization game shallow, referring to its gameplay.

I really like the Uncharted games, but as with all games I like, I can see how others might not find them so appealing.

But there are criticisms I understand, like linearity or taking control away from the player too much, but there are some that don't make sense like above.

The Last of Us is clearly better.

We need moar Zelda, now!

We need moar Unchartedzz!

We need less DLCs.

Then maybe you should ask him why he thinks it's  soulless? Make it a discussion, what else are these forums for if not discussion?

The first question in my reply starts discussion. The second sentence is just calling him out.

after playing uncharted 3 plenty of times and watching different trailers of last of us, i think last of us is a big step up in graphics over uncharted.

Yeah, while I did like Uncharted 3, it fell short of #2 for me because it was a too scripted; the pipe you were climbing up breaking away from the wall or the floor collapsing beneath you were really overused, to the point where it got very annoying. Still an 8/10 game, but it could have been a 9/10.

It seemed very rushed and rather underwhelming by Naughty Dog's high standards, though it still would have easily been a career game for 99% of other studios. I think they ended up making the environment seem more like the enemy than the men with guns did. And while a few parts were breathtaking, like hanging out the back of the cargo plane or the topsy-turvy part in the sinking cruise ship or the trippy desert scene (although I found that part pretty annoying on subsequent playthroughs), you mostly just fell through the damn floor all the time. I didn't even remember a single shootout until I played through on Crushing and actually got stuck a few times. Uncharted 2 had a much, much better balance of action, with some of the most incredible set piece gun battles I've ever seen.

Also, is it just me or did Uncharted 3's aiming feel kind of... off? At least in the single player. Multiplayer was a lot better than Uncharted 2's for me.

Nice post. I agree. I don't see how people can say Uncharted 3 is the best in the franchise and it certainly didnt deserve 10/10 from reviews.

A solid game though. And yeah the aiming was horrible! They have patched it but by the time it was patched i had already finished my first playthrough.

Does anyone know why they changed the aiming?? urgh.

Hmmm on topic, id say the last of us looks a bit better

Well Uncharted 2 & 3 are my all time favourite games.. So for me the last of us will have to her very good to beat them.. Graphically they are a little different in art style so il have to wait to see how it playes from start to Finnish for final judgement.

Hard to judge at this point however I expect The Last of us to look better because it will be a game on a smaller scale in terms of enemies on screen and just effects in general. So with the extra resources they should be able to really focus on making the main characters look great.
