Forums - Gaming - Excluding Mario, do you think Nintendo overuses their characters in games and other types of entertainment media?

Not really, Nintendo uses their properties at a much lower rate than other companies do because they have so many successful franchises. Most of the people I see who complain about Nintendo releasing versions of their franchises too often are the same as those who are fans of companies who release versions of their key franchises on an annual basis; much more frequently than Nintendo.

Also you are acting like Nintendo didn't create multiple new franchises (and to outstanding success: Wii Sports, Brain Age, Nintendogs, Wii Fit) and popularized multiple genres (Fitness games in particular) that had never been popular before.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Around the Network

Yes. But I would really appreciate if they overused them some more.

Nintendo underuses all of their characters, including Mario. Considering how beloved these characters are, Nintendo should do everything they can do to expand the number of their talented workforce to release games on a more regular basis. For example, Star Fox and F-Zero haven't had a new game in a while and top down Zelda games in the classic style would also be more than welcome.

The other benefit of this would be a more consistent software flow on Nintendo systems, even if third parties abandon ship.

They do seem to be expanding production capacity in their recent reshuffling (the one that includes Miyamoto retiring as general manager of EAD production and moving over to directly manage smaller teams), so here's hoping.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
