Forums - Sony - Wish Studios developing new Sony IP prototype

VG247

Wish Studios, an independent UK studio has revealed it is developing a prototype for a new Sony IP. The developer has shed light on the nature of the project in an official statement.

Founded in July 2012 by chief executive officer Caspar Field , chief creative officer Tom Bennett , and chief technology officer Paul Brooke, Wish Studios is currently working on the new IP, which the studio states, ‘is playing beautifully and has enormous potential’.

Field explained, “We are incredibly excited to be working with SCEE on the development of this prototype. While we can’t give away any details about the project, we can say that it’s playing beautifully and has enormous potential. Sony continues to show vision and leadership in bringing original, innovative ideas to gamers, a commitment we share at Wish Studios.”

No format has been announced, but Mick Hocking, Vice President at SCEE, added, “At SCEE we love working with creative start-ups like Wish that are passionate about games and hungry to innovate. The guys at Wish are very talented and we look forward to a fruitful relationship together.”

Wish’s trio of head talented has experience across Sony’s Buzz! series, EyePet, EyeToy and Kinect, so all signs point to a motion-controlled IP. However, we’ll have more information as it happens.

Lost interest here. Please don't be a motion control game.

Same, I would rather that they beefed up some of their other studios, though they have at least expanded Naughty Dog

Never heard of them. I guess they're ex-Relentless Software staff though, seeing as it's in Brighton and they worked on Buzz. I'll wait until they've got more to say before I pass judgement.
