Nokia needs to ditch windows phone OS and go Android.
I, regretfully, have a windows phone and it is mundane. I hate it. Can't wait to toss it for a Galaxy note II.

Very hard for Nokia to get a hold in the market now. But I hope the tides turn around for them.
Because there is a memetic virus out there, you see, not fully understood yet, that is making people accept the products of a certain company as superior than it's competitors, no matter what. It will inevitably be mentioned on articles relating to competing products, usually bashing the device in question and it's consumers while at the same time promoting the memetic virus and the company behind it mentioning their supposed advantages.
While most of the criticism from the bearers of the virus are directed towards the perceived lack of innovation and overpricing of competing devices, an objective analysis holds the company of the memetic virus in question to suffer from the same cons as its rivals. It's unclear why the bearers of the virus are unable to perceive this as a fact and research results are still pending.

I read earlier today that Nokia is still selling more phones running Bada OS than Windows Phone devices, despite the fact that Bada can almost be considered being discontinued, since Nokia hasn't released any new Bada phones for over a year.

I think you're conflating some different stories here. Bada is Samsung's OS (one of them, anyway). Nokia's old smartphone OS is Symbian. It's been Osborned to oblivion and hasn't been living up to Nokia's projections, but it's possible that Nokia is currently still selling more Symbian phones than Windows phones.
I did see a recent marketshare report that Bada is selling more units than Windows Phone, though.

Hopefully, Nokia will pick up again with WP8. i don't see why it couldn't, they look like amazing phones for what they are
