So, does anybody think this debate will alter the dynamic of the race at all? By that I mean will it stop the Romney bump in the polls, will he start to slide now? Or will Romney continue to go up in the polls.

It is hard to really figure, because Romney won the first debate by bigger margins than any other debate since they started polling debate wins back in the 70's. However, Kerry beat Bush by large margins and still ended up losing.

Hmmm, that's hard to say!

I don't necessarily think neither did too much worse than the other, from what I would've seen.

Just for the sake of answering; Romney might go down a little, if at all.

yeah, most analysis I have seen say Obama did well and won the debate, but not by a large enough margin to dramatically change the race.  I'm just curious if people think that means a stop/reversal of the romney surge or if it will just slow it down.

I really don't like the Mitt Romney that showed up to this election.  I thought he was amazing when I met him back in 2001 when he was here in Utah organizing the olympics, but during the primary he really turned me off.  I was hoping Jon Huntsman would gain some traction and get the nomination, but he never did.

With that being said, I'm not much of fan of Obama's job performance either.  I supported and voted for Obama in 2008, but I really feel Obama focused on using his super majority to accomplish democrat wish projects instead of working on the economy.

So, I'm faced with two choices I really don't like.  I'm still withholding judgement until after the third debate, but I admit that after the first debate I have been given Romney some more thought.

Of course, whoever I vote for will mean jack squat since I live in Utah, the most republican state in the union.  Utah will go to romney by over 70% no matter what I do.

The reason I would go for Romney is not because I don't necessarily like Obama, but because I think we need 'change' (har har, get it?)

I think Obama hasn't done too much good, nor too much bad. He just really hasn't done too much (in my eyes.) I want to see what Romney can actually do. In this economy, we need to try to change things up to try to find the best person for us right now.

essentially the same reason I would go for Romney if that is what I do.  I'm just still trying to decide if Romney will be good change or bad.

The current Gallup poll doesn't take the debate into account. By early next week we will know if the debate made a difference.

rueters shows the opposite buddy. Obama at 55Z% a rise in favorability vs 48 for Romney which is a fall.

"Clearly, the debate was a bit of a turnaround for Obama. He put in a much stronger performance than he did in the first debate and it's showing in the numbers," said Ipsos pollster Julia Clark.

Obama's favorability rating climbed five percentage points after Tuesday's debate to 55 percent. Romney's favorability rating fell two percentage points, to 48 percent

Huffingtonpost still puts Obama well ahead based on states polls.

Thought I would give more data. That show you are believing a shift for Romney is not as high as you would hope in fact it might barely exist at all. Look at the always updated huffington post map and you will see it is almost impossible for Romney to win today unless he won all the undecided states which would be impossible.

Obama is the under dog leading into the US Presidential election. The US Presidential election can only be lost by favorite Romney from here. The media and the polls have Romney slightly ahead of Obama. Obama is not benefiting from incumbency.
Romney easily won the first debate and the second debate was a virtual tie or a narrow win to Obama.

Is anyone else kinda really annoyed the moderator screwed with the debate?

The woman was excellent. I also liked that she was "on the same height" as the two guys. And with equal height, I really mean it physically not only intellectually. The physical part you might not have even noticed, but in the first debates, the two guys looked down on the asker. The lady was talking to the guys on the same eye level. Talking to people on the same eye-level  makes a huge difference in how people behave - that is something every debater can tell you.
