Forums - Gaming - Skyrim Dawnguard PS3: Punished for choosing wrong console

Bethesda is single handily the worst developer that hurts the gaming industry the most. Activison and EA do not even come close to the screwing Bethesda has done to consumers. PS3 owners should just forget the game even exist and never buy anything Bethesda owns until they learn how to make games like everyone else in the industry (even the smallest of devs). I know people on other platforms are going to say don't complain just buy it for x system but if it were happening to them they would be complaining (rightfully) like the ps3 users.

Its not my opinion that the PS3s RAM is the problem with this game......its a known fact

it has nothing to do with ram. skyrim aint that great, graphics are standard. these guys couldnt even run angry birds on ps3 smoothly. they have no idea how to develop on ps3, no interest in learning and couldnt give a fuck about any of their fans.

Can you prove that? Sony were helping them fix it... So Sony's own programmers are clueless too then huh?

Sony 'working with' Bethesda to fix Skyrim Dawnguard PS3 DLC

"Everyone involved trying their best to get this stuff working," says Sony

Share

Sony VP Adam Boyes has said the platform holder is working with Bethesda to overcome the issues impeding the release of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's Dawnguard expansion on PS3.

"We have a big, broad dev support team that works closely with Bethesda - and with all of our partners - to work with them to solve that any sort of issues they have along the way," Boyes told Kotaku when asked about game that's been plagued with issues on PS3 since launch.

"Of course, I always want everything to work always for everyone. I can't promise any kind of resolution or timeline but can say that everyone involved is trying their best to get this stuff working," he added.

Reassuring words for PS3 gamers who are understandably frustrated at the lack of the Dawnguard DLC on Sony's console.

Unfortunately, Bethesda says it won't release Dawnguard on PS3 until it's happy with how the content runs, and at the moment the developer says it's just "not satisfied yet".

Bethesda said itself it's not Sony/PS3 fault... and you know the support it's not like it seems... Sony can't change or view anything that Bethesda developed, just Bethesda have a issue and questions the Sony for possible solutions... Bethesda then develop the solution.

By the way you guys need to be patient; bethesda will probably solve all its problems anyway. They have been pretty honest at least.

Of course they arent blaming Sony or the PS3......its not their fault.

I swear gamers are weird man. Just because theres technical issues dont mean its someone fault. Just that Bethesdas engine doesnt work that great with the PS3. That sucks but it doesnt mean anyones a traitor or at fault or anything.

Were talking about video games people, no one should feel personally invested in any of this....

The idea that the consumer is to blame for this, after being specifically told that they would have no problems, is insane. The consumer IS NOT responsible for the quality of the product they buy at retail, the DEVELOPER is. The thought that anyone would side with Bethesda on this is sickening.

While I don't believe that anyone should boycott a game that is only being published by Bethesda, I certainly wouldn't blame anyone from shying away from anything with the Bethesda name on it, especially those who don't really read gaming news sites. That brand erosion is solely on Bethesda's head.

Personally, I love Bethesda games. I'll take Fallout 3 and Fallout NV over almost anything, though I will never buy anything from them on anything except PC. However, people have every right to feel angry and betrayed, because they were definitely misled.

Pete Hines said, "We've never blamed anyone or anything. It's our problem, and it's on us to solve it," and he's absolutely right. Blaming the consumer is ludicrous, and blaming Sony for another developer's work is silly. Yes, the problem is with the PS3's RAM, but the fault is with those who released a product that would not work well with known specifications.

Fixed.

Anyway that's all Bethesda fault... Fallout Las Vegas was released broken in all platforms... that's like this dev is.

Another example...

The problem with Rage is because all the drivers and video cards existent in that platform... you know how bad is that kind of excuses.

Bethesda is a second-class (or third) developer.

And I understand if PS3 gamers would shy away from future Betheda releases as they do struggle with that platform.

I just dont get the people who say Bethesda are evil and dont care about their fans and make it personal. That makes zero sense they just have hardware issues

Make the PS3 the lead platform and you will solve a lot of your problems.

Bethesda has always been a horrible dev, this is just the most pronounced moment in a long history of fuck ups- and yes it is their fault. This is half the reason you should only play bethesda games on PC, so that fan mods can fix everything bethesda leaves broken.
