From a hardware perspektive buy that fucking vita. You wont get a better handheld right now.
From a software perspektive depends what games a you like. I think the vita has a solid christmas line up.
You have Assassins Creed, LegoLord of the Rings, Sonic All Stars and much more plus thear are tow games out there you will not get dissapointed Uncharted and Gravity Rush. If the line up is appealing to you buy it.

And for the hate. Everything sony relatet is doomed lately. Even when the pS3 would end up selling 80 or 90 million plus it will be a failure for some guys. First the PS3 was doomed, now the Vita is doomed yet again the PS3 is doomed again because of the Wii U. Look some people out there will always bash and you can give them argument after argumnet they will always disagree. Those people have a limit brain and the best thing you can do is to ignore them.

And for the future vita support: I wouldnt be to worry. It has a solid Christmas Line up, there will be a price cut next year and of course the PS3 show us how a doomed console can get his resurection and the PSP showed us the same in japan.

Just this for now, i am waiting for the November Playstation Plus to come to Ps vita before i make any purchase bc their maybe discount

i used to own a psvita, and i found that uncharted : golden abyss is worth getting a psvita for and resistance burning skies is another good game. overall i think there is around 10 games worth getting and investing your time and money on. i might get a psvita again next year, after the price drops and the memory cards as well, also i might wait till a blue or red psvita comes out in the states. in my opinion i think u should get a psvita and get the ac3:liberation white psvita bundle.

@zuvuyeay, i gave it to my nephew. i am waiting for phantasy star online 2 next year for me to return to the psvita, and also more rpg's for the system. there are a few rpgs for the system, but no where near enough for me to rebuy the system. i play a ton of rpgs and i need my fix of them and the psvita, doesnt come no where near enough to handle that for me.
