Saw this video last night and it kinda haunted me. Click the Wikipedia link if you want the gist of the video. Discuss.

Except for the possible assault, no one should be charged with this. It was wrong of them but it shouldn't be illegal.

I looked at her youtube page which is still up. Before her death, she apparently watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgRa_wl7-jY&feature=plcp Which seems to be an obvious inspiration. She asked the maker of the video to "Inbox Me".

Just troubles me how this was able to escalate to such a degree.

The thing is, all over the internet and even on this site, we see people that seem to be hurting. You never know how serious their situation is to them. If you see something and it raises a red flag, don't hesitate to be that shoulder to cry on.

blackmail and distribution of child pornography are actually crimes.

If you don't want to be bullied on the internet, don't talk to strange people on the internet. Go play outside, talk with your real life friends. Don't let yourself be blackmailed, it is a crime.

If somehow children can be thought that way, things like this may happen not so often.

This makes me remind of those chicks that don't like men to look at them and yet dress like whores and are provocative. Go figure.

I can agree to a certain extent, but cyber bulling has to be stopped somehow. Suicide hasn't just happened once, but has happened on various occassions. If it were to be made illegal, then it'd infringe on our right to freedom of speech, but what can be done about the problem?

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

This is like a messed up sadness I feel I guess, one that people are dicks and would torment a girl so much so she killed herself, on the other hand I'm angry because suicide is a stupid way out and in today's society people care WAY to much of what other's think of them.

In a sense she is just weak for killing herself, she should have ignored everyone and that would be that, there is literally NO POINT AT ALL in caring of what other's depiction of you is. In the end, the bullies deserve jail. Wish I knew her, I would have helped by beating the dickens out of everyone and of course comforting her, sucks that she actually had no one to turn to.

I meant, charged with anything to do with the suicide or causing it. Those are unrelated to that.

And the images were distributed by her, so I'm not seeing how it could be illegal unless taking images of one's own body is also illegal. In which case that's incredibly stupid law that needs fixed.

It's not something for the law to deal with, it's something that people need to be educated about; schools need to be more aware of, parents need to be more aware of and so on. You can't outlaw just not being nice to people.
