Actually, the wording they used before was "Full HD", minding to never say 1080p. Assumptions went wild, but it was all, in the end, just a marketing tactic. By the way, Wii U has no hardware upscaling. So if it's native 720p, it will be displayed as such. 640p vs 720p seems to be the power difference, at this point, between the PS360 and Wii U.

No. It  will use oftware upscaling like the PS3.

Not bad. But I doubt Ill pick this up. Im getting bored of COD to be honest.

Well, I don't see this information cutting sales noticeably. Most people who care about graphics play on their PC or never planned to buy a Wii U in the first place. Or at least not for ports from last generation consoles, which they already own.

In any case though, the controller and its second screen will distract anyone from noticing such details :P

Well lets say the controller is 854x480 and the game is 1920x1080 this would also not be natively 1080p right ;)?

Does COD run 1080P in PC?

Bah. Battlefield is better anyway.

I was hoping it would be 1080p but I was holding my tongue until I got proper confirmation. I am a little disappointed because, to date, the only game I have in my entire collection that's native 1080p is Wipeout HD Fury (and I hate that game). I'm still getting the Wii U version, though. Using the Wii Remote and being able to play Split Screen with the pad are still big draws for me.

I'm playing RE6 with split screen co-op on the 360 as we speak. When characters split up in this game, they REALLY split up! Jake will have his own adventure while Sherry is doing something totally different. It's pretty impressive. The problem is (as usual) playing split screen means that the detail gets nerfed and you only have half the playing field.

Now, if the Wii U can pull off RE6 and Call of Duty with each player having their own screen, I will be very impressed, even with less than 1080p resolution. Of course, I love Nintendo so I'll be impressed regardless.

Did anyone expect it to be?

I didn't. This is COD.

They aren't going to develop a 1080p version just for WiiU are they? They will do it perhaps next year or the year after.

No one really expected, just a couple of internet posters said it maybe and of course certain posters jumped on it as soon as possible. Any bad news for the WiiU is great news to them.
