Forums - Gaming - Update: GTA 5: Wii U and PC versions ‘up for consideration’, says Houser

From GTA Forums, a little rundown of what we got for IV from GI:

Quote:

Some a few things we can notice from the IV cover that can be taken into account.
The magazine shows early artwork for the game that show
important characters in the storyline
There are several in-game shots
The shots appear to be slightly embelished. Lighing affects are maxed out and textures and draw distances look amazing. The final product seemed a bit throttled back So expect that what we see from V will be a sexier depiction of an already sexy game for consoles at least
The intervew was with Dan Hauser
A summary of the plot
There is a bit of rhetoric, so not 10 pages of constant info
They directly compare the map and size to SA, but not in exact proportions. They describe the map in comparisn to real life new york.
They talk about pedestrian improvements
They dont play and actual miss rather than just watch the game move describing the visual feel of the game thoroughly
Physic imporvements are discussed
Camera angles are described
Car handling is described
Cell phone is described
Mission structured is briefly talked about
Voice acting and soundtrack is briefly discussed
They talk about the developers working on IV
Platforms are announced
DLC is discussed
Multiplayer is quickly talked about
Length of development is discussed

So Im expecting the GTA V issue of GI to have at least if not more than 10 pages. There will be alot to cover since we know nothing about the game. Hopefully there is less ambiguoty this time around.

Hopefully we will get that sort of detail in that issue, I just can't wait for this GTA 5. Rockstar have been too quiet about it this past year.

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

GameInformer

In morning of November 8, we will reveal the cover art and give you a break down of the issue (hint: the story is huge - over 18 pages in print - and full of details and screens we can't wait to share). Then, in the afternoon (US Central time) we will release the digital edition of Game Informer to iPad, 10-inch Android devices, and PC/Mac. Print issues will already be in the mail and should arrive to subscribers in the weeks that follow. Newsstand is November 16.

Two things I am most interested in for GT5 are:

1. Wii U release because I want to see what a sandbox game can do with more than 512MB of RAM!!! They are seriously the most handicapped genre on consoles today.

2. Next generation/PC release information for the above reason. These consoles are seriously long in the tooth and having 5-10 times the performance to throw at this game would be awesome.

How many discs on the Xbox 360? I suspect that it'll be best on the Wii U followed by the PS3 unless they give you the option of doing an install on the 360 and then it'll probably be Wii U > PS3=360.

Your going to have to wait till next gen, I doubt a GTA5 port to Wii u would be any more impressive than the GTA SA from PS2 to Xbox.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

Well the verdict there was it was a cleaner looking game with less pop-in and faster load times. I would predict that with at 2.5x the drive speed and 2.5* the useable RAM (remember PS3 only has 400 and something MB after the OS) the game ought to be better on the Wii U. The Wii U also has that funny tablet controller which might give some extra options as well.

Maybe a GTA built from the ground up on Wii u would be interesting but just a port would not be anything great. The Controller is the most interesting part about a GTA5 Wii U, other wise why not just wait for a PC port if you want faster load times , less pop in?

GTA IV was extremely buggy and ran like absolute arse on the PC and it came much later than the release on consoles whereas you'd expect the Wii U version to release at the same time. I also want to somehow justify buying a Wii U which is probably not going to happen without a good GTA game on the system so theres that as well.

I put over 1000 hours into sandbox games over the past couple of years so you'll have to excuse me for hoping for the best version. At 100 hours plus on Skyrim, GTA and Fallout 3/Vegas I can justify a Wii U on this game alone. (If it reviews ok)

Im betting on a good PC version this time around, but a Wii u version is always welcome. hopefully Fallout 4 will also make it to Wii U. Would be perfect with the controller.
