well, it makes you wonder if 380 million for a smaller service was a reasonable price.

What do you mean smaller service? Buying Gaikai was a lot better than buying OnLive for Sony.

Why? Why did they need to buy either? Don't they know how the internet works?

Maybe because the way Gaikai works is a lot more suited for Sony's needs? Its actually seen as a very cheap buy. A company with no debt, that uses modular server configurations, was a better choice for Sony that want cloud computing on several devices. OnLive was expensive to run, had fixed server configurations, it was 1:1.

And Sony couldn't create this? The truth is nobody knows if it was cheap or not yet. But it would have been cheaper today that's for sure.

They could, but how much more would that cost Sony to start from scratch? Why are you sure it would be cheaper if they bought it today? OnLive was once worth $1.8b. Gaikai will be a gold mine for Sony if they utilize it right.

I love how you make these definitive statements, based on nothing. You suggested Vita was a gold mine a few weeks ago too.

He knows exactly how OnLive and Gaikai works. He actually created both of them. Gaikai is clearly better because Sony bought them.

Gaikai is a better streaming serivce with income coming in from partners like wall mart and best buy, not to mention deals with Samsung and LG. Gaikia actually had something goin for it where online never did. Could Sony have started from scratch? Yes, but most of the work is already done. Why start from scratch, plus they picked up any patents related, where they might have paid out to license the tech anyway.

I summed up why Gaikai is better for Sony, don't write comments implying that old and boring "Turkish=Sony teh bestest". Thats insulting and shows you haven't followed our discussion at all.
